Run away as fast as possible from Centerland Express. I got royally screwed and ripped off by Joe (he calls himself) I was in a bind as my regular carrier was not available and booked 1 skid 850lbs from Windsor to Houston in bond. Agreed rate $1100CDN for the 1 skid, which I thought was a good rate. Loaded Wednesday Sep 3 with an expected delivery date of Monday Sep 8. I explained it was in bond and a TWIC delivery required and Joe agreed to all. On Friday Sep 5 I get a text from a driver that he was trying to deliver in Houston but did not have TWIC and they wanted $200 for an escort. I called Joe right away and got the same story, he was in a panic as the truck had to get to Dallas to unload balance of his load and a crew was waiting. I protected the escort charges at the port and called Joe back. He now tells me he sent the truck to Dallas and would let me know what he was going to do with my skid. I tried to contact him by phone, no answer and mailbox full and by text, no reply. Finally on Monday sep 8 Joe calls and says he needs another $400 to make the delivery and will not until we do a wire transfer, so being held ransom we did just that, now $1500 for 1 skid. By end of day still no delivery, still would not answer calls or texts. Tuesday and Wednesday kept saying it was delivered, POD on it's way. Thursday I went thru my phone and found the text from his drinver, nice guy Sam told me he dropped it at a warehouse in Houston and was now in Arkansas. A number of phone calls later I find my skid. Joe had it dropped there and the warehouse was waiting for him to pick it up, was not going to ever happen I would say. So now another $150Us to warehouse and only $110US for a local cartage company to pick and deliver it to the port just making cutoff in time. My client was in cardiac arrest many times thru the week as was I, nothing worse than not knowing where your freight is. Joe at Centerland still lying saying it was on its way. Upside - down by $460 on the order - but client is still a client.
Should have checked Inside Transport first, lesson learned. Now I will be sending a complaint in to the Link to see if they will terminate Centerland Express. I had many impure thoughts on how I would handle this loser but have since calmed down and common sense seems to be prevailing, though still have thoughts of a very small tacticle thermo nuclear device aimed at somebody's private parts.
