Cell Phones

My boss is old school and currently our drivers have phones for talking only. His biggest concern is a driver just looking at his phone for a minute and being in an accident. His biggest rant - "How many times do you see a car weaving all over the road and why? Because the driver is texting or looking at his cell phone screen!"

How do any of you avoid this with your drivers?

Well... Difficult to control others actions all the time of course, but...

Our trucks have blue tooth capabilities so we just pair the phone up to the tractor for hands-free voice usage. But they probably do look at the screen while driving etc... Can't control everything...

We use the XP7's Just get real good quality mounts for them, we tried a number of mounts, and due to the weight of the phone, almost all of the made in china mounts are crap... can't hold the weight of the unit after 1 week months of bouncing down the road mounted.... buy good mounts.... I do know that there are some Android apps that restrict usage while the accelerometer or GPS is sensing/showing motion... similar to not being able to use a DVD player in your card while its moving.

We don't use this third party application, but I know that they are available.
