I wonder if CBP just has a daily pool now. Bet on the weight and type whoever comes closest wins. Have customs upped their inspection game or are companies just getting really desperate to hang on to their dying businesses?
 
These busts were generally only published in industry news; now that this has become a political topic, every news channel is talking about it.
Of course its a news point. Trump said that tariffs are required because of the 'dangerous cartel activity and influx of lethal drugs flowing into our country. They have failed to adequately address the situation'
Now any drugs passing near the border is in the news. It's how the news providers get their funding - through clickbait.
