CAT Global

Very frustrating to deal with as you never know if your going to be able to pic up or not
we were 5 min to pick up then get call load postponed. really strange lately. you wonder if they ever really had a load or not
I have to compete against CAT on a few on my larger accounts.

They are almost always 10-15% cheaper then everyone according to 1 customer but that comes with terrible service, lots of "delays" and "reschedule."

they are notorious for this, I try not to book with them unless we really have too and always say my trucks on-route to make sure if they cancel we get something for the time wasted.
On multiple occasians even when my drivers were on route they cancelled and refused to give any compensation for time/fuel wasted.

I'm not sure I'd be pissing in CAT's direction. They're a carrier too, and they know the score. I suspect their overall issues are more supply chain oriented than they are trying to yank a carrier around ... unless of course they have a good reason not to like you. Then all bets are off ... LOL
Unless things have changed. Assets and brokerage division operate completely separate.

I'm sure that on the books they do operate as separate entities. That's only prudent management practice and makes perfect sense. Regardless, who do you suppose their largest carrier customer is? That too only makes sense doesn't it?
Full disclosure ... we do maybe a couple dozen loads for them annually. All I can say for sure is what is being indicated in this thread, has never been my experience with CAT ... and I've been doing this a very long time.

We have had the same experience as you, 30-40 loads a year no issues with their brokers, there are hiccups sometimes but nothing major. The only real issue I have had lately was we booked a load with someone there that we normally don't work with and they canceled the load, most likely found a cheaper option as they didn't move the load off the board but they notified us within an hour of booking so it wasn't too bad. To add, for those who say they also have an asset side, it really doesn't add any credibility to their operation, the worst conduct I've seen has come from brokerages that also have a trucking side so really it isn't saying much.

This is strange news as i have worked with CAT and get loads , great rates, and paid fast
no issues here
