Carriers W.S.I.B.

It is also good because you can see right away who is delinquent in their payments...so I stay away from those carriers.

But we weren't delinquent - that is what I was trying to say the first two times!!!! They admitted they have problems and took 5 people to figure out their problem but in your eyes as I see you have a hard time reading we were delinquent!! Go Figure !!!

Didn't say anything about you at all...

no doubt the system isn't perfect...but nothing in life is.

We have just started to be more diligent in obtaining WSIB clearances from our carrier suppliers. As others said earlier in this thread, most times it works fine and we can get the certificate. However sometimes the systems says "ineligible for clearance certificate". Does anyone know what exactly this means? Is it WSIB premiums unpaid or coverage lapsed? Or can an account holder simply request that this information not be given out without their prior approval, in other words, you call me and I will get WSIB to create the certificate for you?

Loaders....it means there is an issue and at present and they don't qualify for the clearance. If this appears the carrier will need to get it rectified on their end. And, I would imagine, if you give them freight WITHOUT a valid clearance you would be liable for the payments on the move if caught during an audit.

Could be the company had worked out a payment plan for the year before instead of paying it all up front. Happened were I worked before and we could not get them. Just issues with each company and having to give the approx. amount of revenue we would have with each one.

Loaders

All I know is that our premiums were paid and it took 5 calls and 2 hours for ours to work. I have talked to a couple other carriers who said they did also.

We had the same problem, premium was paid but ineligible for clearance. Here is what I found out:

We pay our premium on line, and on time. However there is normally a lapse of about 2 or 3 days before the money is credited to our account. That's when we are "ineligible". Soon as they get around to posting the money we become "eligible". Apparently this is a problem WSIB is working on.

It appears that the "ineligible for clearance" is removed by the next day for most of our requests. Like someone else, the WSIB moves in mysterious ways!

New System

I like the new system and am all for it. I am glad that I don't have to obtain and send those silly clearances out every 2 months.

There are carriers out there that were doctoring up their certificates and this will weed them out which is a good thing. Pay your monthly fees by the 25th and you'll have no problems.
