Calgary to Winnipeg

Having trouble finding a carrier that has a steady next day LTL service from Calgary to Winnipeg. I have gone to Ridsdale, Grimshaw and Vitran with no luck..... any suggestions would be great.

No offense Ryan, but maybe the problem is expecting over 800 miles to be moved overnight as LTL. No one will consistantly make this, nor should anyone expect it to happen. Day & Ross will do it 50% of the time, the other 50%, I can't blame them for 2 day service.

Im on your side about the next day service. Im just grasping at straws to keep a customer. I hurts to tell a good customer you cant beat or match the price, not even the service. It makes them question the other business you do with them.

I hear ya. Some carriers are not only giving out rediculous rates, now they are also 'claiming' to offer unreasonable transit times to boot. Hopefully customers will start realizing that there are limits to what can be expected as LTL. I hope you are able to keep your customer...i'm sure Quikx claims to offer next day service, but they will never come through.

"Capacity solutions"! Is that what some carriers call their brokerage operations these days? I wish I had thought of that. I suppose it sounds better than, "all of our trucks are busy right now, so we'll give your freight to another carrier that you don't know, and we will have to take a small profit on it to cover our handling". Definitely, "capacity solutions" sounds much nicer!
