November 1, 2012 Invoice ... a whole lot of calling/e mailing/calling ... has promised to send a cheque today... for the third time.

Now on our DNU list.

Anyone else having difficulty with them.

Cat

I do not recall when C.A.T. last paid well, probably in the mid 1990's.

Always been a customer of last resort. We did something about 3 years go and it took about 180 days. Will never touch them again.

Carrier Agreement?

Hi there, do you have a carrier/broker agreement signed with them stating that they are obligated to pay you within 30 days of receipt of invoice, pod etc.? (I have one from them sitting on my desk right now by chance, and was wondering why we have to sign an agreement with this company when we are already set up with CAT in PQ, which this is a division of, and actually is just a copy of the PQ agreement with a Mississauga cover page). Do you have this agreement with them? Maybe that could give you some leverage in getting paid?

Right on, carrier agreement is from CAT in PQ stating 30 days, with a Toronto office cover page.

We also signed up for EFT with Toronto office, by faxing invoices & pod.s they would be processed in 24 hours.

Our rate confirmation sheet ensures payment in 15 days by faxing invoices & pod.s.

We certainly thought we would receive payment within the terms.

Accounts Payable is not available by phone, you can only send an e mail message and hope for a response.... sounds like the a/p person is hiding.

Thank you "theman" - if previous FLS people have flocked over to CAT, it may explain their behaviour.

Live n learn.

We are also having issues with collecting. Cheque was to be mailed last Monday the 14th. Sent an email today with no response.

Update, our November 1, 2012 invoice was paid January 23, 2013.

Confirmation clearly states 15 days. Only way to contact is by e mail.

We resorted to going to the logistics guy that gave us the load, for a little inside help.

Just beware.

Darlene - try sending an email to Rachel (rbouchard@cat.ca). She is in A/P but this is her DIRECT email. She also monitors the general AP inbox.

Once we got setup with EFT - payments came in much quicker. Advise her the account is way overdue and you want to get setup for EFT to be paid right away.

Good Luck - hope this gets resolved for you.

Depends on the office you are working with, we have had good experience with the Memphis office, but cant say the same about the Canadian offices. Both seem to be run differently and the US office is much better when there are issues.

Lol typical CATG tbh, freight is slow across the boards right now, so they get a lot of calls on their posts. Soon as someone comes in cheaper, your truck gets cancelled. I caught them doing this once to us and called them out on it.

I second this way better people to deal with. I'm curious how their rates work though, had a GTA local move come up and the Canadian office was offering $300 CAD. Took a pass on it cause didnt think we could make the pick time. Memphis office then posts 2 hours later for next day and offers $400 USD....um ok?

Ya it's always the Toronto Office.

worked with them on the odd load here or there. Still pretty long to pay out in our books about 45 to 50 days.

"Over 90 days and still waiting. I managed to get a hold of someone in Accounts Payable last week, who mentioned that a cheque had been sent. However, it has yet to arrive, and at this point, I’m not holding my breath. I’m now considering my next course of action."
