Business Porters

Business Porters and BP Expedite are the same company.
How do I know this?

1.) They were posting on the link and had their business porters email in the link
2.) The yard they currently park at has the logos on it off 410 And DIXIE near MAYFIELD
3.) I know their insurance broker personally.

Believe it or don't its your business and your job on the line when they screw you
Just a fair warning to all !

@DistroPapi this is the type of answer that people on here want, good facts. No need for the remark at the end though but thank you for the info.

Looks like Business Porters closed up their terminal/yard by Sherway.

Drove past it this week and it was empty.

they used to have a few day cabs and trailer or 2 kicking around.

Sign is also gone

Oh No!! - BP Expedite's broker surety bond was cancelled last week and their insurance cancelled as of today. What are their 100 drivers now going to do?

I think their 200 tractors and 250 trailers were dinky toys

Is there any one know what is our rights on this situation
Business Porter vent under
We contact the receiver which is Lineage Milton they washing there hands saying call Shipper they are in Wisconsin they are basically saying they will contact Business Porter to get updated but we all know they went under .
Now when we start pushing shipper to pay they’re basically saying we don’t have nothing to do with.
Any one knows for any advice what is our right here?

Step 1. Contact an paralegal experienced in transportation, such as ScamChaser on this site.
Step 2. Be sure all of your paperwork is in order and complete. It is the paper trail that will determine your success.
That said, if the freight was prepaid by the US shipper, it might be an extra hurdle to manage.

The best recourse is the receiver. They are local to you. Pester them enough and they will either clamp down on the shipper to pay you out or pay you out themselves. From my experience, If they are local they have a better understanding of the current state of things here too and will just settle with you. Lots of shippers/receivers are having to double-pay right now. Just be nice and explain your situation, being nice has gone a long way in settling with shippers/receivers directly this year. worst case, file a small claim but that gets tricky with the shipper being in the US. Best to seek out a paralegal at that point.

EDIT: Bill of lading act, you can look it up to understand your rights as a carrier.

Another problem was Business Porter's carrier confirmation was that legal disputes (such as small claims court filings) were to be brought in PEI. Many Ontario paralegals do not realize that they can bring an action in PEI (and AB, SK, MB, NS)

I'm still not sure that Business Porters and BP Expedite are the same company but since they were discussed in this thread, I'll share this information. BP Expedite in Ajax has lost their FMCSA carrier authorities along with their Broker authorities.
