Burgess Freight Carriers

Burgess filed yesterday for Bankruptcy.

Our cheque bounced as well, and I have been told by Burgess Transportation Services (apparently unrelated) that Burgess Freight Carriers has gone belly up
 
There is quite a few of us now with bounced cheques. I'm wondering if that was a strategic move on Burgess's part - so their creditor list is less than what the company actually owed. All of us with NSF cheques may be showing as "paid" on Burgess's books.

If I don't have a copy of the "who's owed" list by next week - I'd appreciate someone sending me a copy via PM.

No other details necessary.
 
We are at about $9000.00 between Burgess and Seaside. It appears that most of what we did was forklifts that came up from the US and we would get them in Ont or QC.
 
All is not lost........ send your invoices to shipper. U.S. companies can incur severe fines if delivering carriers are not paid
AND HERE IS IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO ALL CARRIERS
Go to site http://safer.fmcsa.dot.gov / This site will allow you to check broker status to make sure he has the authority to act as a broker and has the $75,000.00 BOND and proper insurance to act as a broker

Also of interest......... You can file a complaint to them if CARRIERS & BROKERS DOUBLE BROKER loads as this is a serious offence in the States. / Automatic fine of $10,000.00 dollars for 1st offence

These DOUBLE BROKERS are hurting the industry
