Breach of load sheet

Henry!

I've been holding my breath a long time. Please tell us your shipment actually delivered, your customer is happy, if the truck that delivered is the carrier you booked and of course the carrier that held your load after agreeing to 30 days.

Keep well, speak up!
Mike

Still working on it. The carrier wants 600 layover . I think the owner is going after the carrier. legally The only trouble is that the carrier is from Illinois and the lawyer is telling my owner it is hard to sue in America.

I'll agree with the masses, give them what they want so your customer is happy. It hurts, the principle of the matter makes you not want to do it, but your customer is more important that a few hundred $.

It's hard to let this go but remember the #1 priority - your customer.

I don't know any IL carriers that will service ON - SK. All the more reason to find out the name on the side of the truck, then after delivery inform that party of the potential rebroker situation. I'd be surprised if the carriers names matched on this one.

Keep well, good luck.
Mike

Maybe the carrier should file against your surety bond. If you brokered a load to a US carrier, you would have to be registered with FMCSA and possess a 75K bond. If you don't, then I guess the carrier is using every tool available to him to ensure he gets paid. No bond, no Dun and Bradstreet info, I am surprised the carrier took your load in the first place! Sorry, on second reading I see this was a Canadian domestic shipment, no need for bond or registration. Still surprised US carrier took it.

The plan is to pay him then go after him. I spoke with someone at Baxter Bailey today and they deal with this sort of problem . My owner spoke to his attorney but sounding like we have to hire an American Lawyer.

I do not have a Surety bond. We are a carrier with 6 trucks.

Thanks everyone for their comments.

That in itself would tell me never mind the pay before delivery and all the other BS that is going on here. This is a double brokered load I would almost put money on it.[/QUOTE]
