Disturbing. That highway has enough close calls and fatal collisions. What’s even more unfortunate is that the elephant in the room (so to speak) is not being addressed. Presumably due to the troublesome group crying discrimination.

No more or no less disturbing, regardless of where the was driver domiciled, where he originated from or what his ethnicity. Poor or even dangerous driving habits and shoddy recording keeping are not restricted to any particular group and unfortunately can be found right across the spectrum of todays multi cultural transportation industry. As a group, we should all be advocating for better driver training, preferably completed at recognized, accredited institutions. This situation where anybody, regardless of where they are from, that is warm to the touch and breathing, can get behind the wheel will not go away as long as the current shortage of drivers continues. That is the real elephant in the room.

While your statement may be true the vast majority of these accidents, violations, drug running, driving drunk, and all around screwing of the once proud industry can all be traced back to a certain group and no amount of Liberal pandering is going to tell anyone with a lick of common sense any different. There are some good operations but far outnumbered by the bad ones. Until the powers that be get off their collectives asses and address it things are only going to get worse. IMHO.

I totally agree with you. BUT All he will get is a slap on the hand. Our systems is so messed up it's not even funny.

The only solution is #MoreEnforcement. A lack of enforcement only produces complacency. It will require the MTO and the OPP to enforce rules every day before drivers and owners of carriers figure out that they won't get away with it. MTO/OPP should stop all trucks with that name on the side for compliancy and identify if this is a one time situation or an ongoing company problem. Gross inadequacies like this should definitely get the attention of the transportation agency of the province who provided their authorities put on the carrier on hold until answers are given how they will prevent this from happening again.

That is how this will get cleared up and the good carriers who train their drivers and test their drivers will finally be rewarded for doing what they have always been told to do.
 
And the funniest part about it is there are still hundreds of other trucks on the same highway everyday that may also fall into the same situation but are clearly just getting lucky?
 
Yeah, this soft approach isn't working. It's not like there are 45 different routes around certain spots....Set it up for a week, enforce it and then publish the results.

Reminds me of RIDE programs in small towns... just setup in front of the legion and collect the cars on the weekend.
 
When you import millions of these guys by the boat loads and give them trucks to drive with 0 or no supervision at all, expect this.
just make your rules tough enough to deal with these situations.
 
rules wont stop people. think of it even in general sense outside of commercial trucking. there is nothing to stop anyone from getting in a vehicle until they get caught. if anything its amplified in trucking as money is on the line so people will do anything regardless of the laws.
