Did you pay him in advance?
I think you may get contacted by the actual carrier in few months asking for payments...
Honestly just had a fresh one today. Booked a flatbed load Sherbrooke QC→ Ontario, pickup today, delivery tomorrow, everything confirmed
After 3 PM the dispatcher tells me his previous unload is delayed and he can’t make pickup today as his previous unloading got delayed and he will not make it on time anymore today. Fine, things happen, so I tried to adjust and asked if he could load tomorrow morning around 7–8 AM instead. Then he comes back saying he’ll only arrive in Montreal tomorrow at 7 AM… and will get on loading site at 12PM
I immediatelly canceled the load on him after this and made sure the shipper is aware of this.
1.Why it is taking 5 hours to get from Montreal to Sherbrooke QC ?
2 Why he can't get on site 7-8Am if he is getting empty today in the afternoon?
Obviously he was just trying to win some time to find a truck tomorrow in the morning.
It seems like a classic double-brokerage scheme that will not pay original carrier, beware and be cautios here!

I just read the reviews now, silly me booked a load with Boss Freight (Jacob), and now they are not delivering the freight, keeping the freight hostage.
Asking for the full payment in advance, and I am not sure they will deliver if we make the payment today.
Does anyone have any contacts with BOSS Freight or know them personally?

Had this guy call me a few weeks back. Told him I was concerned about his reviews and he told me to go fk myself. That escalated quickly...lol. DNU
I thought they road off into the sunset, i guess they took some time off to come back to do same thing

I booked them for a shipment while I was in a rush and unfortunately didn’t complete my usual due diligence beforehand. After finding this thread and reading about other people’s experiences, I immediately canceled the booking before they picked up the freight and onboarded another reputable carrier.
Some of the names and connections mentioned here also appear related to a company I may have dealt with previously under a different name
Reputation follows dispatchers, carriers, and brokers wherever they go. Saving a few dollars is never worth risking a customer’s freight or your company’s reputation. I’m thankful I found this information in time, and based on my experience, I would not recommend Boss Freight.
