They're tomato / produce chasers. They will take whatever they can get to get to the produce belt to get the high dollar inbound.
They've been around quite a long time... We don't do too much with them but do seem to match a few times a year. Decent equipment, fair rates and good service. I would not hesitate to give these guys freight.

Yep ... been around for a long time. They are a division of Bell City Brands which owns Tomato King as well. They are one of the more established players at the OFTB.
Their equipment is always nice ... we don't use them often because our freight and their needs don't match up so well ... but never had a complaint about them.
Way back when I was in produce, I used to deal with them too and getting paid was never an issue either -- but I billed Tomato King.

I find Patrick who works in dispatch incredibly RUDE! He will be all nice when taking your load, but if one thing goes the way he does not like it - he turns into an instant A Hole!!! When something does go wrong on a load, one would hope that the 3PL and the carrier can work together to solve the problem... sure does not feel good when the carrier just SCREAMS at you, calls you names and gives you threats!!!

I had got rates from these guys and they even booked the load with me. Than on the day of pick up(today) turns around and calls my client and says they need more money. I was shocked, I thought these guys did good work.
I spoke to Pat and when confronted about what he had done he seemed like he could care less. I am so angry I thought we were all trying to make trucking a better not worse. We will not be using these guys ever.

Big joke these guys are.
Gave them a stop in Florida - delivered one stop on time. Asked the ETA for the 2nd stop - advised still on their dock in Toronto. They split the load up.
The day before everything was "on time". I wouldn't have these guys take out my garbage to the road. Had to pay a carrier to pup off their dock to expedite it there.
The carrier I used said they go their often to pup expedite freight. They take freight and hope they can fill the truck. If they can't - your freight sits.

Guys, if anyone knows Tomato King at the OFTB, it's the same company.
They're probably struggling badly to get outbound freight and when they can't make it work for their trucks, they just have the brokers like Triple Star/Scout etc get trucks for them.

Wow, things must be pretty rough at Bell City. This Pat person everyone keeps mentioning must be a new person. It's been quite a while since I used them and I remember dealing with someone else, and found them to be honest. Crap occurs, I suppose. :/
