Dedicated opportunity - x6/day Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON

Stemming from the call we had earlier this week regarding the meetings, we have the below opportunity to handle up to 6 loads per day for them from Vancouver, BC to Toronto, ON. The catch is that we need to be as competitive as possible to get close to their current rate shipping on the rail ($3500 CAD/$2575 USD). We know that will be tough to match, but maybe you have a carrier out there with a big need to get trucks back to ON. Review the below opportunity and send any best rates no later than end of the day on Tuesday 5/2.

Why get excited about ridiculous rates, low or high? In my mind, offering 95 cents a mile is as crazy as asking for $7.00/mile for dry van freight. I don’t want to be a part of either one of them. If the low rate works for you, knock yourself out and be part of the problem.

It's the market.. rates are HIGH going in and LOW coming out.. its been that way for generations.. But if you look at it on a round trip basis it may work.

Yup, always been like this, I guess people have just been so high on rates these last couple of years they think it's the norm. But $3500 for 2700 miles should be a crime in the criminal code LOL.

Shippers coming out of the woodwork asking for truck service at rail prices. This seems to happen whenever truck rates tank, but I've noticed there's less of that now than in years past due to concerns about the "carbon footprint".

Rail os more dependable. but sometimes lot longer to get to where it needs to deliver. Also if that load misses a train, it could be days before it is loaded on another one. So mixed feelings on over road or on rail

If I were malicious and vengeful - which I am not I would give them Gill X's phone # .... and then they can get rail AND truck service for a rate that is unbetaable ...
