Not sure if your unpaid invoice(s) covered a domestic or trans-border shipment. If the latter, Carson does hold a $75k USD surety bond, and has been in business trans-border for 7 years (with a minor blip in 2019 for 9 months)

Yeah, I already knew they were running a shady outfit, they're one of our competitors on a bid board. Prices never make any sense. Should ask the receiver if he booked transport, and if it was done via an online bidding platform, ask which one, and then call them to get involved. That might help. Also be good to leave them a google review if you haven't done so already.
Scam Chaser, perhaps the below link will shed some light on your comments - looks like they've used the same business number, but changed the DBA a few times. At least that's how I read it.

We don't have any issues or complaints, we have excellent credit, all our bills are paid, and if this was a serious complaint you would give us a way to contact you so we can rectify the situation.. OR is it possible YOU didn't deliver the freight on time, and or damaged?

No complaint here, it's from another party who started the thread that they have not yet been paid for services rendered.

I agree it is shady to have so many different business names. I have done a few loads with 9357-9431 Québec inc. posted on loadlink. We got paid every time. First load or two we did quick pay directly with them. They are pre approved with Riviera for quick pay too if you feel you need extra security hauling for them. As of now I always got paid.

Do they go by Phoenix Freight or Phoenix Logistics. I looked up Carsons earlier and found they were once listed as Phoenix Logistics. There is another post for someone claiming the same thing. They are on loadlink as 9357-9431 Québec inc.
I posted a link from the registry and they have had many names.
