Ayr Motor Freight

We give them loads and do work for them, when hauling for us they do a good job and they pay us direct deposit 35 to 40 days max.

Good carrier, big enough to have equipment everywhere but small enough to do what they say they will.

I have used them in the past, also - but they dropped the ball on a shipment and were passing the buck from the NB and ON office. Seems to be attempting to fix the problem now but I wasn't very impressed. Hopefully this was an isolated incident. Wanted to check if anyone else had issues. Thanks

We used them many times a few years ago until we had a service failure on a shipment to Calgary. As mentioned earlier, the NB office blamed the ON office and vice versa. Due to a very, very late delivery on a TL shipment, after being promised a firm delivery date, we short paid their invoice an amount requested by the consignee for their installation crew's waiting time. The owner (can't remember his name) telephoned me and yelled and screamed for an hour without once admitting or explaining their late delivery. Needless to say, we haven't used their services since. Who knows, maybe they have tightened-up their ship by now, as this incident was quite a few years ago.

I know they used to have a nasty reputation for screwing up deliveries, handing freight back etc. But over the past couple of years they've actually been pretty good.

I've had bad luck with these guys in the past as well.

We booked them for a move... our tracer called to ensure the truck was online to pick up and we got "the other terminal covered the truck" story. Yet no one could be bothered to call us... we had to find out on our own.

They're not on our DNU list but it does say "be careful" beside their name.

Carriers are really good at calling right away when they think that they are taking too long to get loaded... but not so good at calling when there's a service failure. Not all carriers mind you... but a lot of them.

They ususally pickup on time, but NEVER deliver on time. Ususally atleast a day late. No matter where the freight is going, we always get "the driver dropped it in our xyz yard, and someone forgot to pick it up...". Dont use on anything time sensitive.

im an x o/o and was screwed many times by them. delivieries are consistently late no matter state or province. They dont care attitudes, owner doesnt care about o/o at all, but yet screw them. They dont maintain a good delivery, and all company trucks are jump seats, so you can determine for yourselves to deal with them or not. Choices; wish you good luck.
