Don't let a PO box give you a red flag. There are many reasons to have a PO box. Namely better control of getting your mail... as a new business grows it becomes necessary to move into larger facilities. A PO box gives a company a constant address etc.

Agreed nawk. Our company is located in a building with 3 other, separate companies, all with the same physical address. As a result, we opt to use a PO box located at the post office in our town. If there is any doubt, ask for the brokers physical address as well as his mailing address. Go to Google Map and get a satellite look at his place of business. Your right about references as well, and also ask for their MC number

Agreed. A PO Box is only a flag when the company only offers the PO Box address and it turns out to be a UPS store or something. If one shows a physical and mailing address, it's all good.
Tip of the day.
I had a guy that owed us money and wasnt returning calls. Went to collect and found myself in a plaza in front of a UPS store.
Sent him a box wrapped in bright red paper via UPS.
Sat out front the next morning and sure enough within an hour or so buddy comes walking out of the UPS store carrying the box.
He seemed surprised that I knew who he was. We got our money.
