Don't know if anyone else has heard this, I caught it up the highway...April 15 is a National Day of Protest, for fuel buyers...in other words do NOT buy fuel or gasoline on April 15.
Having said that, let's take it a step further! from April 15 to April 17, we ask that all truckers, GET THE FLU in ontario and wherever in Canada you might read this.
We are trying to be designated and "Essential Service", much like hospitals and churches and schools. These institutions all get major tax breaks, just for doing what they do. In Canada and around the world, nothing runs if we don't make it run. Since I've delivered babies, we now have delivered EVERYTHING!
There is NO appreciation for us, we are considered the scum of the earth, whereas we used to be called "Knights of the Road", because we'd help anyone, anytime. Due to hijackings we don't do that anymore, hence our fall from Grace.
I'm tired of paying too much for fuel, too many taxes on tires and gouging by truckstops, and supply houses for what we have to buy.
I for one want a better way of life as My career winds down.
