Curious about Marvel Freight in Brampton, anyone have experience with them? I know they're associated with Marvel Trucking, but Google has a lot of bad reviews. Just wondering if anyone has any first hand experience?

Well, all their 5 stars are 1 review posters..

with gems such as;

Being a manufacturer, after dealing with 2-3 delivery service providers I came to know about Marvel Freight. They are super quick with delivering products to the customers through streamlined logistics, and they run things very smoothly. I am very satisfied with the service.

and the rest are 1 stars about not being paid.. seems like an easy no

They are located in Brampton but the address is in Nova Scotia. That should have been a big stopper right there but it got overlooked.

We tried them for one shipment. It took 120 days to pay, Way too many phone calls, emails ecetera. They are a big

Most important is payment but if they pay does it mater where they are located?

I am told that the reason why so many Peel Region small carriers incorporate in Nova Scotia is for lower insurance rates - nothing more nefarious than that.
True but if they are willing to do something to skirt Ontario Insurance there must be a reason. The reason most of them suck and their drivers are in the ditch as much as the road. the sooner they get after these carrier with there driver inc and NS et insurance the better

Hell, it's not only that region's small carriers, but its bigger ones too !!!
Fortunately, Nova Scotia has refined their system to surcharge based on where the miles are run. i.e. if a Nova Scotia based carrier runs the majority of its miles in Ontario, even if that mileage is only 25% of all miles, the carrier pays Ontario insurance rates.

I believe Facility is the only one to implement this, not any others. Unless its implemented by the major insurance providers doubt this will change anything. Heck there's a building somewhere in NS with about 60+ trucking companies and i'll bet good money that most of them are insured through Facility with the same brokerage *cough cough*.

I guess this thread got sidetracked a bit. Regarding Marvel Freight, I represent two clients in actions against Marvel for unpaid freight invoices.

Facility Insurance is not an entity unto itself. Facility is funded by the big insurance companies, and managed and regulated by the government. So, for all intents and purposes, all of the major truck insurance providers have implemented the same rules in one form or another.
As for the brokerages involved, I think you will find that they are no longer licensed to write those policies.

BIG TIME DNU. They are big time double brokers. Know of a lawsuit from a carrier due to non payment from Marvel. JD Factors is now involved as well.
STAY FAR FAR AWAY FROM THIS OUTFIT.

I don’t know how they are working. They don’t pay to anyone, and the way owner and employees talk I think they are not even afraid of law.

They are currently suspended from Load link due to non payment. 4 companies they did not pay reported them. They are now scrounging and paying these people off so that they can get their access to load link back.. Anyone else have money owing? report to load link so they do not get their access back

Marvel Freight had their FMCSA bond authority revoked. I guess there is a Marvel Freight and a Marvel Trucking.
