Dealt with the Oakville Office for decades.
Many friends and former colleagues worked there. But since they restructured a few years ago, our dealings with Hub have been slim to none.

I used to run a lot of IDML through them; I think I've likely just done my last one. Two weeks to figure out a US bond. They had two agents left in Quebec, but I'm pretty sure one has given up on making it work, and the other is halfway out as well. Crazy to think of the size it was in Barry's heyday.

It was probably one of the largest truck brokerages in Canada when I worked there. It was maybe a year, maximum 2 after I went to NFI that I heard that the Yeager's (the founders and major shareholders of Hub Group) basically ended the franchise agreement and pulled the operations back to Chicago. A few agents hung around with them for a while, but once Barry went to Caravan he ended up taking them with him. I think the Quebec agent retired but the one in BC is with Caravan, and I believe the one in Montreal is too along with another who joined Oakville after I left.
Hub Group has a strong balance sheet and is publicly traded, but they don't do nearly the amount of OTR brokerage anywhere that they used to ... anywhere. Much of it ended up with Mode that they bought then spun off again.
It was a dysfunctional family there for sure, but I've actually maintained a lot of connections to people even though it is 15 years since I worked there.
