Is anyone having trouble getting paid by

American Logistics Group
PO Box 4
Syosset, NY ?

Does anyone have any experience with them?

Just an update: We did get paid. Payment was over 90 days. The worst was a lack of communication...total silence..when we requested a payment status. But we did get a cheque and the account is cleaned up.

As is the case with most US based brokers, they do have a surety bond - see FMCSA Licensing and Insurance page. You can always file a claim which would undoubtedly get a fast response (and payment) from them.

Good to know. Thanks very much.

Still same zero communication and when asking for broker they will reply back after 2 day's and broker does not work on weekends. Load was booked Wednesday and kept asking for broker info and didn't get it till late Friday when broker was gone home for the weekend. Had to inbound the load and now when asking for revised confirmation they are not replying to emails or picking up calls.

So many of the US based brokers move freight by just saying pick up here, deliver there. The BOL is issued by the shipper and all they do is track it. When customs and custom brokers come into play, many US brokers have no idea and think it all works the same as shipments within the US.

Because of their lack of knowledge and or caring, the carrier is delayed and additional costs rack up.

I've always said, when taking loads from a US broker, ask about the customs broker and customs paperwork before you even agree to the rate/load. This way, it is front and center and not an afterthought.
