You are talking about PAPS. I am referring to PARS There is a difference between the two processes. We too take loads with PAPS from other companies. It's not so straight forward when coming back to Canada. There is an RNS that has to be pre-approved and it takes many weeks if not months.I've had a customer who insisted on this too. It was an outbound customer and I had to take a batch of PAPS stickers to them every so often, and every time they created a B/L and customs paperwork they would automatically send to the border before we even actually picked it up.
They never would come out with the whole story of why they put the policy in place, but from what I understand it's legal even if you broker the freight out.

wow, no it is not new.Never heard of this RNS is this new?. We have brought pars loads home on large carriers pars before and it was not an issue.
as long as they want to prepare your ACI. A lot of people who don't know how things work... If you are passing someone elses PARS someone in you company did some work that you are not aware of... I know this because I am the person who has to take care of having a carrier code approved in order for us to be able to use it on our system. There shouldn't be a problem doing it on PARS either. It's actually a common thing if you have an arrangement where you are pulling someone else's trailers as part of some sort of dedicated operation.
RNS = RELEASE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM with CBSA. Sorry I said something that offended you Rob. Didn't realize that little o' me could have such an effect. We have several OOs that we do work for and their carrier code needed to be pre-approved. We use BorderConnect and they have helped us in the approval of these OOs. But, it takes from 4 to 12 weeks to get the approval
When we do use someone else's PARS they prepare our ACI and supply us with a letter that gives us authorization to use that PARS for a unique entry to Canada. But I cannot do the ACI because we do not have an approval from CBSA to use their carrier code.
