I searched for forum and found an old thread fro 09 about these guys. Anyone have any updates. I've seen they post loads but do they move loads. Are they a good carrier? Anyone work with them. Looking at doing a dry load from SK - PQ with them.

I know over at my old place and long before that we used them, and they were generally pretty decent as a carrier. I've seen the odd truck of theirs around and it's good looking stuff.

How they pay? I wouldn't know though.

Good carrier. Have used them quite a bit over the last few years and they have always done a good job.

Ajit

They went through a rough patch a few years ago, we ended up with a very good driver of theirs.

There was then an issue with driver pays not quite clearing at the bank.
Do not have any recent info on them.

Ajit

Once was enough.

Still owe us $250.00 - they just short paid an invoice, after 60 days.

A/P @ AJIT very rude.

We will never see the balance due.

On our DO NOT USE.

We recently concluded a deal to move a load for these guys. He sent me the custom docs and they had their pars on it. When I asked him if he was going to make us our ACI, he told me NO that we had to take care of that. I don't know about anyone else on here but our service provider will not permit that. RNS approval ... He got quite angry when I had to give him the load back. He did not understand what the problem was...

I've had a customer who insisted on this too. It was an outbound customer and I had to take a batch of PAPS stickers to them every so often, and every time they created a B/L and customs paperwork they would automatically send to the border before we even actually picked it up.

They never would come out with the whole story of why they put the policy in place, but from what I understand it's legal even if you broker the freight out.

You are talking about PAPS. I am referring to PARS There is a difference between the two processes. We too take loads with PAPS from other companies. It's not so straight forward when coming back to Canada. There is an RNS that has to be pre-approved and it takes many weeks if not months.

Never heard of this RNS is this new?. We have brought pars loads home on large carriers pars before and it was not an issue.

There shouldn't be a problem doing it on PARS either. It's actually a common thing if you have an arrangement where you are pulling someone else's trailers as part of some sort of dedicated operation.

as long as they want to prepare your ACI. A lot of people who don't know how things work... If you are passing someone elses PARS someone in you company did some work that you are not aware of... I know this because I am the person who has to take care of having a carrier code approved in order for us to be able to use it on our system.
But then again Rob and Theman, I'm sure I must be wrong... you guys sure know everything there is to know. I sure can't know anything that you are not aware of.

What would happen indeed was that the carrier who owned the PAPS/PARS sticker would do the manifesting. You're correct in that it needs to be the same party.

And no ... I don't know everything ... but over the years you learn things. If I didn't see it, I wouldn't think it could be done either.

Well miss know it all I also do the pars and when I did it we just plugged the number Bison provided (their carrier code and pars number we had an letter authorizing me to use the number) in my system and sent it to crimson logic and away we went.

Not sure what I did to piss on your cornflakes there Martine and really could care less but I asked a question that you never did answer. What is a RNS ?

See because I said I had never heard of it before you jumped down my throat saying I knew everything. I fully accept your apology that I will probably not get as you seem to have a bitch on for me and that is fine I'm married it is not the first time I made a woman mad...

Let me help everyone in the sandbox get along:

It's my guess, sometimes I'm wrong.

Hi to all those who made it in safely. Please, please, please remind your drivers to PARK if the roads are unsafe, like today, there's quite a bit of ice out there. We aren't transporting organs here, no drivers life is worth a load arriving on time. En route to work, I saw a minimum of 6 cars in the ditch - then approaching the hill down River road (right near the Old Mill in G-town) I followed a Cavalier Truck who very smartly put er in 2nd gear (I think) and took the hill at 15 Km/h. It's an 11% grade and I love that driver for doing the right thing. All the cars behind the truck (including me) were safer as we had to slow down too!

Keep well, keep safe, keep the rubber on the road.
Mike

It's a very simple process really. The company with the freight does a cargo entry in the ACI portal with their PARS, then the carrier does an equipment entry and plugs in the PARS number and viola.

RNS = RELEASE NOTIFICATION SYSTEM with CBSA. Sorry I said something that offended you Rob. Didn't realize that little o' me could have such an effect. We have several OOs that we do work for and their carrier code needed to be pre-approved. We use BorderConnect and they have helped us in the approval of these OOs. But, it takes from 4 to 12 weeks to get the approval

When we do use someone else's PARS they prepare our ACI and supply us with a letter that gives us authorization to use that PARS for a unique entry to Canada. But I cannot do the ACI because we do not have an approval from CBSA to use their carrier code.

Well thanks for the answer. See you learn something new everyday. I do not use the aci or ace portal all of my shipments are done through EDI through our dispatch system and crimson logic.

PS I was not offended, I was too busy laughing. It takes a whole lot more that that to offend me. I learned along time ago if you can dish it out you better be able to take it and we all know I like to call it out.

That's the way we treated it when we had that situation ... it's a bit of a pain because it puts more onus on us even though we aren't actually carrying the goods. But for the right client ... right opportunity ... we figure stuff out.
