I have a problem that I need advice with. I had 2 loads which I booked with the same trucking company. 2 Full loads, 2 trucks, 2 drivers. There was a layover and wait time time involved and the charges for both trucks are quite high not a problem. Both drivers were advised to mark there time in and time out for the layover and wait time. This is where the problem comes in one driver did his job right to a T while the other driver didn't mark his documentation at all but did as requested and was there on time and delivered on time. The first load has been paid in full with all the charges however I don't know what to do for the second load and the charges?? I even went as far as to mark wait time for the carrier on my own bill of lading which I faxed to the carrier and the only thing he had to do was initial the bill of lading and my customer would honour the charges but the dispatcher couldn't do that either. I was doing this for his benefit not my own.

Sercurity

Is there a security guard at the delivery location. If so, they will have his in and out times in their log and simply refer to those.
We very often run into situations where, the receiver will not sign in and out times and this is what we use.
This not being the case here, it may still help!

Does the company want to be paid for the wait time on both loads? If not I would just leave it alone. There is only so much you can do to help out the carrier.

He wants to be paid wait time for both loads and the driver that had his time in and out I have paid him for. It is the second that I haven't paid yet and I am just thinking of paying the rate we agreed on.

I'm sure the driver has been told where to go as far as this is concerned. As the carrier and as the broker, I would try to bill it out and see if it gets paid ... if you get away with it, fine, if not, then you write off that accessorial and the carrier will have to do same.

Are your trucks satellite equipped? If so, print out the time the truck arrived and departed....... and send as back to your invoice to your Customer..

Copy of log book page showing "on duty, not driving" doesnt hurt either (as long as it coincides with correct time.)
