Has anyone used this carrier. If so any problems. They did a load for me last month....what a nightmare. They picked up a day late. After 2 days of trying to track them down they told us that the truck had just crossed the border and would be deliver within 2 hours. We arranged for the consignee to interupt their weekend and come in on Saturday afternoon to receive. Finanlly we hear from the driver late on Saturday afternoon and he informs us that he is still several hours away with multiple LTL deliveries ahead of us and that he might be able to deliver on the following Monday. The driver also tells us this is the standard routine for this company. While all of this is going on Lisa at 1st Line decides to blame the driver. Never a straight answer....they are without question on our DO NOT USE list.
 
If this is the 1st Line out of Hagersville, On. owned By Lisa Secord and I think her husbands name is Paul they are noted for this kind of service. She also use to be Secord Transport. DNU for a long time.:(
 
Yes Paul is his name his brother Mike is also involved.
I have no comment on there service as have not used them in 4 or 5 years. They are good guys I can comment on that as I have known the brothers for 15-20 years it is to bad to see there name on here with these comments.
 
If this is First Line Logistics out of Hagersville - run the other way. We had lots of problems with them taking freight - agreeing to requirements - and then not living up to them. We stopped using them about 3 or 4 years ago - for all these reasons.
 
Have to agree with the majority of posters on this one. Lisa does not take anything too seriously. Mailbox is always been full. Always the driver's fault.
Have used 4 times in the past few years and is now on DNU. I have not given them any sensitive freight but tracing is a nightmare.
 
Glad to see we're not the only one that have that carrier on our DNU list !
 
We are going through a nightmare right now!! Since 7am this morning we were trying to get a hold of Lisa - voice mail always full. I seriously don't understand how these companies operate....are there any other numbers to get a hold of them?

Have been on our DNU list since last year when they decided to split my 1 shipment on to 2 different trucks. Caused the customer to pay for an extra entry. They tried to hide it by doctoring the ppwk. When I confronted Lisa she denied it and got extremely nasty. I got nasty back and deducted her for the extra charges my customer incurred as a result of her negligence.
 
I only used them once and they did a great job. Picked up 3 skids for me in Montreal at 3pm, delivered to my dock at 11pm as promised.

I was never able to get hold of them again though, so they fell off my supplier list.

Yeah, however it couldn't have been that bad because you keep calling. Also if you didn't lie about the weight, the LTL load wouldn't have had to have been split!

YOU WERE GIVEN A RATE REDUCTION BECAUSE OF THIS AND THAT WAS NOT ADDED TO YOUR RUMOURS.

Your dispatcher never told the truth! The load was to be picked up on Monday by another carrier, not us and we picked it up on Wed. afternoon. The truck broke down and on Tues, when we were to pick the load up on Tues @ 5pm, and we offered repair receipts on Wed morning, before we picked up the load and also said if you would like to take the LTL back you could. The answer was NO you pick it up!
When we arrived @ the shipper he stated the other carrier on Monday left you hanging on Tuesday morning, that's were we came in. The truth is you were late and left hanging before we came into the picture and that part was left out. We picked up 15 skids on Wed afternoon in N.C and you were looking for it on Thursday night, Friday morning. We delivered it on Monday @ 6am! No problem.

Please get all your info correct please, before the beaking starts! Always 2 sides 2 a story! We have never had a problem with our freight being delivered on time. People remember - partial shipments are always later then full loads and dispatchers have a tendency to forget that.

LMAO your so full of sh*t Lisa. I have not called you since then for starters and I didn't lie about anything. It was 30' floor loaded and weighed apx 4500LB. Get your facts straight.

Everything that you said was true, but you you left one main fact. YOU NEVER ANSWER YOUR PHONE, AND DEALING WITH YOU WAS A NIGHTMARE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I specifically told you that I needed the delivery done on Friday and you said no problem, you only ended up delivering it on Monday and you are bragging about it!!!!!!! I seriously hope that you end up closing your doors, cause the service you provide is horrible, and after all this I can safely say that you dug your own grave and I doubt anyone will give you any freight!!!!!!!!!!!!

Any update

Any update on them? Is their service still horrible? They called me for an inbound load and I mentioned that I have had issues in the past and they swore to me that their service had improved. I do not believe it, but someones else's opionon would be great.

I have used 1st Line recently. This is the first time I am reading all these posts about them. The loads they have done for me recently have all been picked up and delivered on time. I do agree though that sometimes Lisa is hard to get a hold of, I remember having to try a couple times before I got a hold of her.
 
1st Line

I brokered a load to 1st Line years ago and when Paul arrived to pick up my freight he gave my customer his business card and informed him he should call 1st Line directly in the future. Landed on my DNU list.

They have been on our DNU list for years. There are way too many great carriers who run the same lanes.
