15 people arrested, 73 charges laid in GTA-wide commercial auto theft investigation

Anyone shocked by the names of the accused? 15 and not John Joe or William in the bunch. Get a job ya fucking losers.
I was just thinking how much work goes into scamming people / setting up elaborate back stories / forging documnets etc... it's so much easier to make an honest buck these day ....
These people do it for the thrills ?

Anyone else happen to notice that 1/2 of them had priors??
PR
If not already on probation etc. Most Indians are honest hard working folk but the crooks in the bunch are just freaking ballsy as all hell. You all came here to better yourself if you want too be a lying crook stay in India please we have enough crooks in Ottawa.

So... When we hire a new employee... we do a background check.

Too bad Justin and his band of Jokers can't do the same when letting these dirtbags into the country.
so true story - went to school (US) with a guy - his brother and him both used the same ID and SS# for everything .... I am assuming they are still living in the US and no one is the wiser ....

Hey they're just dishonest hard working folk. It'd be nice if they sent them back to India after they serve their sentences.

If….and I don’t know what the correct answer is ….they are Canadian citizens, why send them “back” to India? I am a Canadian citizen and of Irish extraction. If I am found guilty of some horrendous crime and serve my sentence, should I be extradited to Ireland? Not trying to defend criminality, but being a Canadian citizen does,
thankfully, afford you, me and them some protections against unlawful deportation. If they are indeed here in this country illegally, then that is a different story.

I can only go by the pledge of citizenship which seems to state:
English: I swear (or affirm) that I will be faithful and bear true allegiance to his Majesty King Charles III, King of Canada, his Heirs and Successors, and that I will faithfully observe the laws of Canada and fulfill my duties as a Canadian citizen.

Lets imagine that instead of becoming a citizen, you are pledging this to your new employer. Should you be terminated if you violate those policies? These are people we have welcomed into our "home". Why should (anyone from anywhere) be allowed to become a citizen and then break the rules, but get to keep enjoying the wonderful rights we have? And yes, they'll be going to prison, but I'd much rather go through the slap on the wrist Canadian legal system and do time in a Canadian prison than some other country's prison.

So are you suggesting that there are, or should be, two types of Canadian citizenship? One for “home grown” Canadians and another for people that have arrived recently from another country and have become Canadian citizens? Once you are a citizen, regardless of where you were born or how long you have lived in Canada, Canada is your ”home”. The only place Canadian citizens should be sent if they break the law…..is jail!

If you come to Canada to break the law, you've already lied during your pledge of citizenship, which may render it null and void, so yes, perhaps I do think there should be two types.

I was born in Canada, as were quite a few generations of my family before me. Never, ever have I been asked or required to swear allegiance to any monarch or government. I don’t think this gives me any special status or entitles me to any more rights or protections than a Canadian citizen who has made the Oath of Citizenship. Once you are a citizen, we all should play by the same rules and should all be subject to the same and equal treatment under the law.
