Anyone have any relations with this carrier, i.e. service related issues they are located at
5959 Shawson Drive
Mississauga, Ontario L4W 3Z6

We gave them an urgent load, and their truck broke down in IN(Trailer brakes not functioning). The owner of the firm called me and said that the part was ordered but had no idea when it would be in IN that week, so he committed to getting a backup plan by using one of his Laredo drivers coming back up to switch trailers Thursday and get the shipment delivered by Friday if the part did not arrive in a timely manner. In the end, the original driver was able to make it back to their secured(CTPAT) yard in Windsor ON Wednesday after sitting in IN for a couple of days. After I made a call, the owner committed to bobtailing a truck to pick up the Windsor trailer and deliver it the next day Thursday. A good recovery under the circumstances. The truck apparently had a faulty part that cause the air brake compressor to not work, leading to not being able to get the trailer's brakes working.

Yeah, this stuff seems to be happening more often... We were recently in an accident that damaged our DEF tank... Waited almost a week for a replacement tank to arrive while the truck sat...

Thanks for the info Jonny-chicken, what was cool was that the carrier let us have the driver load a cellular-driven satellite tracking app that corroborated his position.

Apparently, truck parts have also been impacted, just like chips in the car industry, add covid to the mix and you have a mess.

Something is amiss -if the compressor was not working then the truck would not be drivable and he wouldn't make it to Windsor. The compressor is the heart of the complete air system for both the tractor and trailer.

I think you just got a paltry excuse and they didn't tell you that your urgent load was mixed with some other load that had to deliver to Windsor on Wed.

Yes, I was wondering about the whole thing, as I am not an expert on trucks. I gave them the benefit of the dought since we were tracking the truck and it was in IN for 2 days, then suddenly appeared in Windsor ON. The load was a full load that was sealed as well. Thank you for your input, the reason why I provided some details of the event.

We were in touch with the driver by cell who at the time was miffed at the fact that the truck had broken down. Thanks again for the insight.

Ok, it may be exactly what you thought it was - maybe you got a wrong description of the failed part and I understood it wrong. Either way, you were happy it got done. One last question, did the driver stay 36 hours and then moved to Windsor? Could he be on his reset and dispatch didn't take that into account?
I just don't like to hear that someone took an urgent load and then the truck breaks down with an excuse that baffles someone who knows little about trucks when in reality is it is something else. I find it hard to believe that a failed part would stop a truck for some time but miraculously able to drive it without fixing it to Windsor.

The sudden move to Windsor surprised us, to be honest, but the driver on his cellular seemed honest about it all. I don't think it was a reset, we had been following him from Laredo all the way up, and saw him take his required time off during his way up. He was in line with a single driver transit time. Thanks for your input thought.
