It has been brought to my attention that the instances of trucks being posted as available on Load Link, when in fact they are not, has increased dramatically over the last few weeks. I can fully understand that keeping your postings current can be a challenge when you might be short staffed or exceptionally busy, but it really is a time waster for those of us actively trying to source equipment. Conversely I am also aware that there are probably some brokers who are very slow at removing their loads once booked. When things are as busy as they currently seem to be, lets do ourselves a big favour and try to keep our listings on Link as current and up to date as possible. Sound reasonable?

We stopped posting this week. Tired of the endless phone calls from brokers we've never heard of before.
Even when the postings are dated for a week from now, still get calls asking if we have availability for today.

There is enough freight being offered via email and phone calls from regular customers.

Having more loads than trucks is very good for the market place. It forces shippers to pay at or above actual market rate at the time of shipping versus lowball contract rates that don't take into account fluctuation in availability.
Especially on Amazon shadow lanes

I recall a little over a year ago, only one in every ten postings was a real truck. You're saying it's much worse today? That's got to be frustrating. Are you saying it's not a good time to re-enter the transportation industry as a dispatcher in a freight brokerage? Asking for a friend.

Keep well,
Mike

I wouldn’t discourage someone from getting into the business. There are always going to be periods where trucks are scare and other periods where loads are hard to come by. It does seem to balance itself over time. No question though, right now due to many different factors, trucks are hard to come by at any price for certain lanes. Which is why, I ask all of our carrier friends to try and keep their Load Link postings as accurate and up to date as possible. Answering an inquiry regarding a non existing truck must be as frustrating for you as it is for the caller.

It seems to me that more than a few carriers post on lanes they "want" to service as a normal course of business. There are a few well known carriers that probably come to mind. I may be being petty about it, but as a matter of course I do not use these carriers.

I have noticed this an issue also on the end of the companies posting freight also. Have called numerous companies for freight and told sorry covered but still there 2 hrs later. I know we are all busy and for sure forget to take it off.

I have been getting calls for 3 days asking about a truck I took down last Thursday and it said just looking no truck. Dat and the link up to games to make themselves relevant in this mess?
Same issue here. I called Loadlink and complained....what good it did I don't know.

He said he'd manually remove the posting off DAT. Very annoying.
