Called on a load from BC - PQ about 3100 miles in total w/o deadhead - dispatch was clearly overseas.... lady gave me a $1.00 / mile rate and routing through the US and then Canada and US again...
Would've been interesting to see how that goes for whoever picks the load

Anyone seeing this happen - I mean custom broker customer service is out sourced and now dispatch...what next!!!!

To be fair, I have never been able to find anything paying much more than $1 per mile from out west for as long as I can remember.

Impossible to beat LMIA rates.

Re: LMIA, does the employer still not need to provide a letter stating how much they are paying and deducting from the driver? Do they just flat out lie on those documents, or admit to paying them well below what they should be paying?

If the government is receiving information that the driver's are working for .24/mile and not doing anything about it, alarm bells should be ringing.

They can deduct sponsorship fee's & housing costs/resettling fees for up-to 3 years during the immigration process. The worker/employee has next to no rights for three years while he waits for his PR card. (After PR appointment the next meeting is at the Kenworth dealership to become a O/O; only to just create a modicum of respect; to own the walls that form his self-imprisonment.) These guys will outwork anyone in your fleet and usually live in the truck as their sponsored housing is most likely a dormitory setting in rural NB/NS/MB/SK/AB. At 24-25 cents a mile (35 if you have US VISA) these guys do 3000 miles to make 750/week; which is 5 times the monthly pay of Ukraine & even a higher co-efficient when comparing with South Asia.

Then you ask yourself why does a city like Moncton NB have so many trucking companies that operate in Ontario?

Some heroes will advise supply & demand; but those guys don't live in reality and abuse situations such as the one stated above for their own personal gain.
