Afternoon Members,

I'm looking for an IFF to bring retail goods in from Ireland to ON (Uxbridge). Volume isn't too heavy but will be on a regular basis. Customer is already familiar with completing customs documentation. If anyone has recommendations with a contact name/email - would certainly be appreciated.

Thanking in advance.

Cross docks Systems are an excellent operation and specialize in IFF shipments.

Afternoon Members,

This post is from awhile back. A couple updates since then - Brexit the main one.

Bringing in cartons from the U.K. has become very costly, as taxes are now imposed when goods cross from one locale to another (ie. goods from Ireland/Scotland crossing into London and shipping from London are now taxed). Shipping and customs costs have nearly tripled due to infrequent flights as well.

Is anyone else dealing with the same type of retail freight destined to Canada from the U.K.? If so - how are you handling consolidation and this new tax structure? Is there a good IFF that someone could recommend? I'm sure there is a resolution to this shipping problem and a "work around" to keep costs in check.

Thanks in advance for any "points" in the right direction.

Only asking because I am curious - Can shipments not travel in bond from country to country like they do here? also is there not a free trade agreement in place (CETA), or does that not apply with this type of freight?

They used to be able to travel country to country tax free - that is no longer. Nothing to do with the classification of freight. Tax applies to all U.K. shipments that "cross over" countries.
