Mid-Star Logistics / 2143983 ALBERTA LTD MC#1008703

We have used them on a few loads. The communication is best described as "Sucks". We constantly have to email, text, call, (Carrier, Shipper, Receiver) just to follow a load.

They are somehow affiliated with Joyce Motor Group in PQ and I do believe have bought Vanak Transportation.

The best I can say is... Use them if you have a lot of time on your hands because you will have to make a lot of calls to follow a load, up to the point of calling the receivers to confirm they did deliver the load, AFTER dispatch has said they did.

I don't know how they stay in business (or if they will)...

I do know that a man named Raj operates J E Express, Vanak, Black stallion, BST. I don't know if the above named company is affiliated. What i do know is i recently used BST (without any service problems). A man called Harvey runs it. He told me that a company called BVD Capital took advantage of them. Some sort of fuel advance scheme and they stopped dealing with BVD . I see in the red highlite above about them advertising about the scheme. Maybe give them a call to see? Harvey and Raj work together. I think they are starting a new business and i think some of their CVORs were pulled.

We gave them a load from Thunder Bay to Cornwall but unfortunately our customer pushed back for next week (he was missing freight) before Mid Star Logistics arrived. We tried to give them 200$ for missed pick up charges but they are asking 1000$ (for a 1300$ shipment). When I told them I would no pay they started to call my customer and harass them. Be aware this is fraudulous and can affect your customers relationship.

BVD Capitol is owned by BVD Petroleum, out of Brampton. It is factoring company which they started short while ago. don't know how a factoring company can take advantage on fuel advances.

BVD approached me for factoring. I did n to proceed. I have heard stories that they will deduct fuel invoices from your factoring when they choose to.

Sounds like it's more of a fuel company that offers factoring rather than the other way around.

LMGFAO treat DOT same as load brokers

OUT-OF-SERVICE New Entrant Revoked - Refusal of Audit/No Contact
The motor carrier is prohibited from operating commercial motor vehicles in interstate commerce. They may still operate in intrastate commerce, unless prohibited by the State.
MGFAO, that is priceless treat DOT same as load brokers

Wish I would have caught this post ahead of time, CSA scores were a little iffy but no red flags initially. Contracted Mid Star to haul a load from DE, went to the shipper and loaded a shipment that has nothing to do with us going 300 miles away from our contracted destination, brought it across the border. After days of having issues track and tracing and just generally being hard to deal with lying about being onsite and missing picks with same day notice etc, we had the shipper agree to pay them directly for the load as neither the shipper nor receiver in this case are clients of ours. Boy was that a mistake, after Mid Star sent the shipper an invoice and everyone generally agreeing to the price they decided to hold the load in their yard in Maple ON because they couldn't get the receiver on the phone or they didn't get an email back from the shipper not entirely clear? So now the shipper is trying to track their load, Mid Star apparently incapable of using the phone can't be bothered to call anyone, and the load is not delivered after 24 hours and 267 miles. Please note there are phone numbers for the company that loaded and the receiver all over the BOL they have in hand since loading Wednesday. Admittedly I lost my temper several times, a level of incompetence I have not seen in some time pushed me over the edge, not proud of that fact but also not certain it would have changed the outcome to remain calm as I had already done that for 3 days prior to this SNAFU.
Now I am trapped between trying to keep things kosher with the shipper who is my clients supplier, and trying to get this carrier to deliver the freight so they are paid in full (I don't know if they back charge for delays and the like since I don't work for the shipper directly).
I would not use this carrier if they were the last truck on the face of the earth and promptly cancelled any other freight we had booked with them. I would rather loose the load then go through this level of stupidity again which pretty much sums up my review.

We called them for a load intra-usa and after doing a bit more research, I found out that also own the following two companies. It seems they use the Joyce as a brokerage. It seems they owe a lot of carriers money.

Raj, he's a piece of....

Operates under many names.

See who he is factoring with as he has screwed a few of them.

It seems A lady called Alina is listed as the owner for both of these companies from what I see on Carrier 411. It seems they are all related? She has the same last name as this Raj guy.
