Range Freightways - Service?

Hi All,
I have a load pending , GTA to WA and looking at possibly using Range Freightways. They are telling me they have been doing Western Canada for a while but now doing USA. Feedback would be appreciated:

They lied about the number of power units and how long they'd been i business.

When you lie once... you'll lie again.

We figured out the same thing. Said he did Costco's all over Western USA which is what we where looking for. As you noted and can see he has one power unit and Driver. One of their references even told me they are bad at communication and generally late most of the time.... lol....

It should be noted that safersys only tracks the trucks that are permitted to cross into the USA. they could have more trucks that do not travel out of the country.

I called their insurance co. to ask how many trucks they had insured under them and they told me 1.

Gary Gill has been in the industry for a while.

He previously worked for Centurion Trucking then left to start his own company, Multiple Logistics.

Range Freightways is his most recent company and they DOUBLE BROKERED my load.
 
Range Freightways are operating under 2 companies. 1st company is Rove Logistics in which they provide local deliveries and warehousing. 2nd company is their long haul transportation company running lanes from BC to ON and ON to BC. Both companies have the same owners Joban and Gary. They consolidate LTL and ship. Never deliver your freight to Rove Logistics because from your paperwork they will look at the customer and Gary will contact them under Range Freightways. If you are wondering why you have not received any loads from your customer is because Gary has already contacted them and given them cheaper rates. They do not publicly tell everyone that Rove Logistics and Range Freightways is the same company because they want you to use their warehousing from the front and from the back Gary can figure out the customer while he sits in the back office calling your customer. Many Ontario companies have stopped giving Rove Logistics business because they figured out someone was contacting their customer and stealing their business. VERY BAD WAY OF DOING BUSINESS. Gary worked in Centurion Trucking for many years alongside Rimple who is Range Freightways accountant and we have come to hear that after leaving Centurion they tried contacting most of their customers. They tried stealing their business but were not very successful in doing so. Also while talking to other carriers based out of BC told us they even tried stealing their drivers. Please be very careful when giving both companies a load it has already happened to us while dealing with them. When Gary contacted us he lied about how long it had been since the company was opened and lied about the power units they had.

It is funny. what goes around, comes around. The name you mention in your thread, not Rove, used to do the same thing under another company ( brokerage) used to ask for driver's names and phone numbers. when they started, this company, most of the owner operators who used to work with other companies, and companies provided the phone numbers and names, quit and move over to them and start working with them. that's how they stole owner operators from other companies and if it is happening to them, not surprised. Rove or Range learned from them. but stealing customers after warehousing for them is really bad practice for Rove/Range. No wonder why we don't get phone call from our customer for 1 regular shipment. we used to do, pick up from Rove which was regular move from back east to Rove and we would take south. good paying and now disappear.
