Inside Transport - Going Members Only

Why would I advertise here if you only limit to only the regulars? Don’t you want many people coming in here to snoop around ? Also is this not anonymous website? Does it mean you have to introduce your self now ? All the fun will be gone ....I enjoy the funny conversations people have here
haven't seen you advertise here at all....

So you don't want me to introduce you Jacob ? :)

I like the approach and anticipate it will promote a stronger community forum.
This industry is transforming at a rapid pace and I for one truly appreciate the contributions of the members that grace this site with their knowledge and insight!

Dear Members,
We have reached a good number of members and will be making this site only visible to registered members. Members with zero posts in 180 days will be removed and would have to re-register. New members would have to introduce themselves during registration and not all applicants will be approved. Any members advertising without approval will be removed immediately.

We hope you are happy with what we have achieved as a community and we look forward to growing in a positive direction and encourage everyone to contribute.
This site has been an awesome tool to obtain information. Everything posted still has to be parsed and reviewed for your specific situation and checked and re-checked. Either way, its usually great information to point you in the right direction.

I think it would be best to still allow anyone to view the posts for their own perusal. It is also a great way to get new users to the community. Making all posts only visible to current members is a mistake in my opinion. We need to always get more information and more members to solidify the information that is out there.

What is the reason for this decision?

Good morning all!
I have been a registered on this site for a number of years, and rarely post. I find the information presented on this site quite informative regarding the companies mentioned. It has spared our company from pursuing certain accounts, and allowed us to 'jump' in other matters.
By the way, my name is Wally Pierog, from Trailer Wizards!

I agree with this view point, making all posts private will make it difficult to reach new users and grow the site. I found the site through a google search of a deadbeat carrier that brought me to a post about them here.

I can understand trying to set up a bit of a vetting process. I do think limiting what outsiders can see might be detrimental though. I would be more in favour of having to be involved in the discussion, or you get booted, as well as making everyone have to introduce themselves with real names.

Under consideration.

We are experiencing about 10-20 new members sign up daily
