LTL Carriers - Toronto to Vancouver / Vancouver to Seattle

Hey guys, who have you been using for Toronto to Vancouver for LTL?
I have freight mentioned in a previous post for Seattle area, I've been using a couple of LTL guys direct but I find I can get it there faster in most cases if I send to Vancouver and then up to Seattle.
Now I use J&R Hall to Vancouver but I find their rates to be really high. Service is great I admit.
Who else would you guys recommend?

And for the next part, LTL Vancouver to Seattle? I've used CSA before and service was OK but tracing always seems like a challenge.

Your suggestions would be most appreciated.

My two cents... So you've got a great carrier in J&R Hall (you admitted the service is great)... But you want 'cheap'. Do you think that great service comes cheap?

Tracking is an issue with CSA because they don't own any equipment - FYI.

I prefer not to give an exact example, but the LTL shipment I have would cost me over 700.00 more to Vancouver than if I sent it to Los Angeles. My logic is sound to look for cost savings here. If my shipment has a more specific delivery date, I'd use J&R in a heartbeat.

If you don't mind I prefer not to get into the "cheap broker" discussion. One thing I am not is cheap. One thing I am is frugal. OK there is a fine line sometimes. LOL

My logic is sound though. I know there are other good more reasonable carriers to Vancouver, I'm just checking who others are using.

So CSA is one of those carriers who aren't really a carrier? I thought that and someone corrected me saying they do run their own trucks. I had a feeling that wasn't true.
