Can anyone recommend a company that would rent a heavy axle flatbed trailer (4-axle or greater)? Our credit is great but I just can't find an available trailer.
(Some schmuck stole our trailer over the weekend and we are in a very tight spot.)

Thanks!

I would be looking in Mississauga/Brampton area on side streets. They didn't want the trailer it was your load of sticks they where after. Had 5 trucks stolen over the years and all but one where found intact in Milton- Mississauga corridor usually within a day or so.

Thanks Rob! The cops said the same thing - the load is probably already part of a building by now.

Well...if anyone notices an aluminum Manac 4-axle flatbed sitting on a side street (if they didn't take the tarps, there are three tarps rolled up and one of them is yellow) with ON plate #L4888T - please give us a shout...or call the cops.

My fingers are crossed.

Did you try Trailer Wizard?

Yes - Thanks Robby. They don't have any right now but they are processing our credit app so as soon as one comes available...

It seems that heavy axle flatbeds are next to impossible to rent.

Strange question. If there was a carrier that wasn't hauling to maximum capacity and had one sitting in the yard, would they be interested in loaning you a trailer for a fee? As long as your insurance covers non-owned trailers.
I'm thinking Challenger, Mr. Flatbeds, Windchaser, etc...
Or is this a serious faux pas?

Keep well,
Mike

I guess it depends on whether they see you as a competitor that they shouldn't help or they see it as an opportunity to make some cash.

Did you try Trailcon rentals? I came across that name yesterday. I have never rented from them though.

Thanks Mike for the suggestion. We tried a couple of carriers and, like Ralph says, they see us as competition (which I am taking as a compliment) and aren't interested in loaning us a trailer.

Since we have run out of options, we are in the process of buying an older flatbed. Luckily, we have one of the best mechanics in house and he will be making it 'better than new' as quickly as he can.

Thank you to everyone that offered suggestions and ideas. Very, very much appreciated!!

I hope you all have a great weekend - stay warm!!
