Moonstone Transport

If this is the Moonstone that is located in Hornby, ON - this company screwed us over very badly.
The staff lied to us when a misshap happend. Would never use them again.

We use them on occasion (rare occasions)... I'd suggest not giving them anything time sensitive or out of the ordinary.
 
Moonstone Milton is hit and miss. Sometimes they do a good job and other times its a nightmare.
 
They have a bunch of trucks with decent contracts but just can't seem to pay their carriers.
 
KiKi is Milton. Yes never give them anything thats time sensitive. Drivers leave when they want and deliver when they want.
 
??? Curious, why does not having CTPAT "mean everything"? I know a few that gave it up & talk to some more carriers that will give it up? To this I agree except for blue moon shipments I find having CTPAT of no advantage!
 
There are large, multinational shippers out there that insist on using only CTPAT carriers. We have a couple of them ourselves and as a result, must place those loads with compliant carriers. Due to their size, these types of shippers have lots of volume, so for us and the carriers we use, it seems to be worth it.

They lost it - not the same as not having it.
 
It depends why they lost it. For some companies (carriers and not) it's just that they don't want to dedicate the resources to managing its compliance. But those same carriers may pledge to be CT-PAT compliant, and for a full load it's little more than a policy of sealing trailers and not breaking the seal before delivery to consignee ... for LTL it's to padlock the trailer doors between Ps and Ds. For warehousing etc it is more complicated.

If a carrier loses it based on ignoring the rules (eg breaking seals to put a skid or two on the tail of CT-PAT loads) then it shows they are not serious about their certification and that tells you a lot about them.

From a carrier's point of view, I agree that you can argue the hassle versus the merits and benefits of compliance. However, from a shippers point of view, a certified carrier represents a certain degree of professionalism, as theman referenced.
