Anyone else having regular problems collecting from this company?

We have dealt with them for some time now and they have always been slow and the kind of company you have to keep on top of for payment, but I have an invoice that is about to go over 90 days and I want to see if others are having the same experience.

Everytime we call we speak to a man named Upson. He always says the cheque is in for signing, sometimes for weeks at a time.

I think you already answered your own question. "Always been slow" "90days" and it takes weeks to sign a cheque.
Get your money and delete them from your customer list.

They are in St-Laurent.

They are apparently paying us by EFT (which I didn't know they offered) today so I will see how that goes.

whatiship, you are correct sir... I have also requested the owner contact me to discuss future payment terms before we extend any further credit.

So, I spoke to the owner's son yesterday, his name is Martin.

He apologized for the delay and explained that they do not in fact offer EFT, but what he was going to do was bring some cash over to a local branch of my bank to deposit. o_O

He wasn't sure that would work, so I suggested he courier it to me, which he did.

I received the cheques today, there were two.

There is definitely a problem there with getting the cheques signed at MS Transportation, the two cheques I received today were printed on March 11 and March 15...

Well... laugh at me if you will... haahaaa....

But here I am again....

This company is very slippery when it comes to payment... Cheques are perpetually "in for signing" and their A/P staff named Upson seems buried under a mountain of collection calls on a regular basis... If you don't hound them you won't get paid...

At 63 days today I am told that the "cheque is still in for signing"... So, I have threatened contact with their customer, shipper, receiver, customs broker, you name it! I seem to have hit a sore spot because Upson told me that it won't come to that, and I will be able to pickup my cheque tomorrow...

I will post again when I get my money...

Oh, and I have finally added this debtor to my DNU list!

This company seems desperate to hold on to this cheque at all cost...

I told MS Transportation I was sending Fedex in. They claim that Fedex won't pickup there unless an electronic waybill is issued, that Fedex won't accept them filling out a paper waybill.

Obviously this is not true...

But I went ahead and had one of my staff setup the pickup online so that MS Transportation could get the waybill by email.

Of course MS Transportation claims they have not received the waybill.

When I called Fedex, they told me that their driver arrived at 2:15pm today and was turned away by MS Transportation staff.

It could be a mistake, but at this point I am thinking this is their way of just getting another day or two without having to pay...

The customer has now been notified of MS Transportation's inability to pay us.

Let's see if that gets the cheque to me any sooner...

Surprise Surprise...

Just got notified that MS Transportation turned Fedex away for a second time today.

So, after I left on Friday my co-worker called to let me know that MS Transportation gave them a fedex tracking number.

I checked the number this morning on the fedex website... It's not a valid tracking number...

In other news... MS Transportation's customer called me back this morning. Said they told MS to resolve the matter asap.

Cheque received today by Fedex at 69 days...

Sorry for all the posts... looks like I'm the only one interested! haahaha...

Well, this will serve as a reminder to me how much I had to go through to get paid with this company... in case my dispatch ever calls me to ask about them...

And with that, I add MS Transportation to my DNU list.
