Disturbing information on F.T.C. Limited MC#381694

Does anyone know what I can do , These guys are holding a freight without letting anyone know the location of the shipment, that needed to be delivered friday?

In a freight held hostage situation, I've found that paying the ransom, allowing your customer to receive their shipment, is the most distasteful but most efficient way to bring the matter to an end. In most cases the police will not intervene, and even if they did, it could take days. Even though you would like to go "Rambo" on these crooks, keep calm, ask what it is they need and get the shipment delivered. Although it is difficult to do when your blood pressure is off the charts, you have to think long term and protect your customer. Once the freight is off the truck, lose the carrier's phone number and feel free to rant on this site about their criminal behaviour.

Morning all,

I believe you can report the product stolen, notify the insurance company and the police. That usually gets things moving. I believe there is a thread on this already with a member getting good results. Loaders response is the best practice though.

I HAve offered them payment Just to get the delivery done... and Still no Answer from them, I have a feeling That they Probably Filled the trailer i PAid full for with supposedly 2 drivers...

It is most likely your freight was double brokered and another carrier has it - requesting to be paid in full by Frasier Logistics before delivery.

I would not release freight without payment if I ever got a hold of freight that Fraser Logistics was involved in.

This is such a disaster I have never heard of them BEfore and only reason I took them is because they were claiming to have a team and was able to deliver in oakvillle asap... I got royally screwed there. HAs Anyone been paid or did these guys ever got reported to the police?

Perhaps you could post some of the load details here on this site in case a member has your freight on board. By all means, report the incident to the carrier's insurance company as a lost load, at the very least they might be able to contact the carrier to see what's going on. You might as well contact the police as well. They might not do anything, but there will be a record of your call being made. Try to get the name of whomever you speak to at the police station. If you haven't already, offer to hand deliver the payment to them at the consignee's dock in the form of cash or a certified cheque. I know it seems like a lot of work, but when you have the cold steel of the barrel of their gun pressed to your temple, it's best to comply and get the shipment delivered. Please keep us posted. F.T.C. or Fraser Logistic, or whatever they're called, cannot buy advertising as good as this!

Should I direct the police to their physical address? They do not seem to have any physical address.
FTC, or Frasier Transport, or Felter Transport, or Felter Logisitics, or Felter load brokers are located at 215 Robert Rd, Grimsby, ON. They operate FTC Transport out of the upper floor of the building (1st building south of OZA Storage). They will not open the door of the building for anyone without an appointment. There are several people out there that want the owners to pay up for services rendered, that have never been compensated. I personally know several of the individuals, as well as myself, that were ripped off by these guys, simply for resigning because we couldn't take the financial losses working there anymore. These guys have a history of not paying, not paying in full, holding freight hostage and many other dirty tactics just to make a buck. They did not "steal" from anyone but the owner ops contracted to them at the time. However if they suspect or have the slightest reason to believe they may not get paid, your freight will disappear until they are paid in full.

That was a common practice for these guys. Alfred and Adrian (having used different aliases over the last 15 years, such as Al, Fred and Adrian posed as Ken Parker for several years, as well as Jules Bizier the son-in-law) prefer to get as much for a trailer load as possible. Hence why it is so difficult to reach them. Payment for partial load is uncommon for them. They want to take partial loads committed to full trailers, so they can double and triple bill. I suspect you will get HOS or weather excuses, or breakdowns. It is altogether possible that one of their owner-ops finally had enough of not being paid per contract, and is holding the freight hostage from them. Or claiming it has been stolen to try and get their money out of the freight by selling it off.
These guys change names and company names every few years to start fresh, without the stigma attached to them. They have horses that they race in Flamborough and Woodbine, and take many losses as such. The transport company keeps their horse racing alive. That said, as Jim L mentioned, as it is hard for them to keep owner-ops and they only ever had one or two trucks at a time, and they were usually junk, they may very well have double brokered the load. But I suspect it is a case of them simply filling the trailer and the deliveries had to be made to show your product was alone on the trailer.

STeve has been calling again looking for freight. He's not on link but he's found someone to post his truck and call about loads. Be mindful same old person not a nice guy right away gets nasty on email.

Can you see if Millcroft Logistics Ltd. is a recent match on your link?

Also, just for kicks and giggles, can you ask him for his trucking package to see what name he is going by now?

I'd appreciate it if you could do that and post it here. I've made it my personal goal to pay back Steve just as much pain as he had given to me.

Thanks in advance,

this isn't legal advise but it's worked for me in the past:

Call his insurer to notify them that your product is being held in a manner that you believe is unlawful, and that you will be reporting it to the police. Advise them that the carrier is dodging your calls & you need to know where to send the claim.

Wait no more than 30 minutes...just in case somebody at his insurer has enough of a relationship with him to call & tell him to smarten up.

If you don't hear from anybody...call the cops. Tell the cops that you are prepared to make payment on delivery. Be sure to educate the cops that this is NOT normal practise but that you are willing to go above & beyond to resolve.

Advise the Receiver (your customer?) that the load is being held hostage and that you are working with the police & insurance. Follow-up with profuse apologies, gift-baskets, Hockey-Tickets, sexual favours...whatever it takes...doesn't matter how you feel right now, your customer is the actual victim here & in their eyes you're part of the problem...make sure they start seeing you as part of the solution ASAFP
