Network FOB - Two Harbors, MN

Received a cheque from this "outfit" and as previously noted below - were shorted $3.50 for cheque processing fee. A bank draft costs $7 at the teller - this is half that amount. Absolutely ridiculous....

I have a HUGE issue with this. When we were setup with this company last year - there was nothing documented nor did we agree to this deduction. Our dispatch agreed to a rate and that is the payment expected - in full.

We did not charge $3.50 to enter Network FOB's order into our system - so why would we pay for them to cut a cheque? This is the kind of nickel & dime antics that ruin a broker/carrier relationship.

The going rate for losing a good carrier is $3.50. Will never work with them again.

DNU & I'll add a BEWARE also.

I think these guys put something on the bottom of their load confirmations about the fee; We were hit with this too in the past and just shake our heads...

I just experienced this $3.50 screwjob myself!

Message on the cheque stub says to go to their website to signup. Oh, but if you are a Canadian carrier, even if you have a USD bank account, they cannot sign you up for this service unless your bank is in the United States. I explained the irony of that to their A/P person and asked to be exempted from this scam, just for shits and giggles... Of course, he told me that it's an automated system and they can't make any exceptions. But hey, the next time I'm booking a load why don't I try adding $3.50 to the agreed rate?

Seriously?

Also... payment terms... Not sure when this short paid cheque arrived because of the holiday break, but the date the cheque was printed is exactly two months after my invoice date.

Total scam.

Not worth dealing with an outfit like this - they can keep the $3 bucks. They are blocked on our end and won't deal with them again. If they do it to enough carriers - they'll be blacklisted.

$3 or no $3 - it's 'antics' such as this that carriers always remember....I'll never have a short memory with this account.

I too would like to tell FOB to FRO, but I'm told there is a slim chance we will need an inbound from them in future... But same as you, we will remember them... That, and we are going to attempt to push them to accept a rate that is $3.50 more than they are offering next time, just to be asses, you know...

I hate to admit it, but here I am again... Don't care about the $3.50 at this point, just want to get paid for my load done in April, nearly 3 months now...

Dealing with this guy named Nate, he's really bad at returning phone calls. I resorted to calling their dispatch line and pleading to whomever answered the phone. I received a call back later in the day saying my payment would be expedited on Monday...

Well, that Monday was 10 days ago now, and Nate has stopped answering the phone again...

I'm going to contact the agent today and just start hounding...

I'm pretty sure there is something major going on over at Network FOB.

I finally spoke to Nate and he told me that my invoices remain unpaid and the expedited payment that was promised did not happen.

When asked why payment had not been made, I was told they are going through some 'hardships'...

I have spoken to the agent and notified them that contact with their customer in imminent.

My last ditch effort with Network FOB is a voicemail I left for the executive vice president this morning.

If any of you have funds owed to you by Network FOB, I suggest you get all over it.

I just cashed one of their checks today after only 34 days. I also come to terms on rate and then add the $3.50 to it LOL. Try them at 651-256-1000 or 239-330-4751

Really eh... Guess I'm the only one getting screwed...

Their accounts payable guy Nate says no payment in sight...

I have left messages for their Vice President, no reply...

I notified LoadLink of the non-payment this morning...

I am working with the sales Agent to see if they can help out, otherwise I will be suing this week likely.

MarkD, I would consider yourself lucky and stay away from any loads offered by Network FOB in future...

I'm not the only one who is getting stiffed! Their facebook page shows a large volume of complaints, many regarding non-payment...

Here is but a sampling of the posts on their facebook page right now...

Get your money folks. This company is stiffing carriers daily. File on their bond, whatever you need to do.

So... Apparently I have now been blocked from Network FOB's twitter page... I had the audacity to send a tweet requesting they pay me for my work and that upset them I guess...

I have now spoken to three different Network FOB agents who have all said that they left Network FOB in the past few months because carriers were not getting paid.

I found another phone number on Network FOB's facebook page that still works... Number is 904-337-2000

Weird thing is, the automated system that answers says you are calling "Rising Star Systems", but they answered the phone "Network FOB"...

Did some research and Rising Sun Systems is a holding company in Florida. I'm guessing if they share offices and phones, that Rising Sun Systems likely owns Network FOB. Also, the CEO of both companies is the same person: Jim Handoush

After placing calls to every agent, executive or office I could get the number for... I received a call back from Nate...

He tells me that his company is going through some 'issues' and will pay carriers when those 'issues' have been resolved.

I asked him for some idea of when I would get paid, as it has already been 3 months... He said he really doesn't know when I will get paid.

He also said that my company is on the 'expedited' list for payments once the money starts to flow again... Unfortunately that didn't do me any good when they promised that my payment was expedited the last time as I have still not been paid...

From what I've seen, when a company acts like this, they are teetering on the edge...

Network FOB was sort of bought in 2012 by Rising Sun. The owners of Rising Sun are the founder of Network FOB and Jim Handoush, who used to be the COO at Landstar. It's supposedly set up a private equity company ... and we know that there have been several companies owned by private equity firms that were dumped and bankrupted. I don't understand how this would happen at Network FOB, but it sure sounds like there is a money problem there.

jonny-chicken,

Go after the customer directly if you can. Get them involved and get them on board as YOUR customer directly.

If your invoice doesn't get paid but you can pickup a new customer - you've gotten something out of the unfortunate ordeal....

Setting up shop in FL protects your home in a bankruptcy scenario. Creditors can't take your house in that state.

Network FOB, is now operating as Interlog USA FF# 004677. whose number that has been dormant for over a decade. Interlog USA, was purchased by Network FOB in October of 2014. Since that time, Interlog USA has not been a licensed freight broker or freight forwarder. Interlog’s FF# or Freight Forwarding number was reactivated on 6/15/2016. Since that date, Baxter Bailey has received over $400,000 in freight charges from several carriers that Network FOB has failed to pay.

Network FOB has hundreds of thousands of dollars in unpaid freight charges. Â If you have an issue with Network FOB or Interlog USA, please give me a call.
