Sllooowwww

Unless the populace is incredibly stupid, I can't see the Federal election going to anyone other than the conservatives. However, stranger things have happened ... Ontario did manage to elect Bob Rae once ... LOL
We too are set up to move out of Ontario if need be. First choice would be Alberta. Second choice would be New York State.

Florida no personal income tax oh and no snow. That is the great thing about trucking you can move and keep all your drivers.

You might want to reconsider that after the NDP's Orange Crushing defeat of the conservatives in Alberta last night. lol

They definitely have the momentum and all eyes will be on the NDP now with the federal election a few months away.

If Alberta can vote in an NDP majority government...anything is possible federally

When I walk into a restaurant and its slow, with lots of empty seats I don't expect a cheaper meal.
When fuel rises, and produce starts do you expect a better paying load? I never make anyone drop their pants, but paying 3.50-4.50 per mile (these are the lanes that we have been beat up over and not representative of everything I do) and scaling it back $100 +/- is not only reasonable but necessary. Seems to me that people will only argue the benefits of supply and demand when it's in their favor. In most cases I am using the same pricing, but there are lanes that if I held the price I would loose the business, I am sure this happens to carriers working customer direct when the market changes...

With Mulcair at the helm, I don't think they're any threat. In my opinion, they will come out weaker than ever in the next election.

It's the little punk Justin I would be worried about.

Snafu's right though ... it's pretty much a crapshoot from here on in.
The liberals would be way worse for the country than NDP ... at least given their platform so far.

No, he raided the contingency fund ... you know, the fund that is to be used for economic down turns and natural disasters ... exactly what we are going through now ... LOL

You read the wrong article. I saw that one as well but he raided the surplus and also wants to introduce legislation so it can't be done again. The EI contributions would be lowered over time to make the system self-sustaining instead of creating a deficit or surplus.... LOL back at ya.

The idea isn't necessarily wrong but the optics stink when you consider how outraged people were when the Liberals did it to cut the deficit.

Do I detect a "dyed-in-the-wool-anything-but-conservative" lurking hereabouts ??? ... LOL
Too bad we lost Flaherty ... we're going to need him now more than ever, but Joe Oliver is no regular dummy and his ideas seem to be pretty solid. I don't know the other party's critics that well, but I do know I have not heard a single good idea come from any of them.
Really though, no matter what any government does, whether the public accepts it or not is solely dependent on the media spin.
If Barney Fife from CTV News had said this was the greatest idea since the wheel, then the flock of sheep would not have questioned it at all.

My rant for the day :)

No you don't. A real conservative would be appreciated by many. I just find it odd that one party complains so loudly about something the other party does and then turn around and do the same thing and supporters then talk about how it is a good idea forgetting that is was a bad idea. I don't think Robert Fife would say that unless he wants a senate post and look how that turned our for his friend Mike.

My rant and I'm done because we are off topic now. :)
