I will not be surprised if they are out of business within the year. Sooner or later brokers will stop giving them freight.

Just lies

no, you can't get across with out a trans #.

Sandy

we got only 2 shipments on board; one got stuck because of textile permit (customer, shipper and consignee) were not
even know. We are a bonded carrier but certain shipments we can not bring in bond!!

Those guys said thanx very kindly.

We did speak to Sandy 33 times yesterday - 19 times today.
She does not even know if she sent a confirmation - she can not file an insurance claim.

She tried to file a claim this morning!!

Funny !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

wow moonstone;

our notes:

Not to be used - they lie, are often late on p/u & will cancel on you at the last minute

You guys are on dnu list anyway because you cancelled 2 times friday at 4.45 - same time as now.

Brokers got a right to cancel anytime - why can't carriers?

You guys cancel if you get a cheap carrier.

One would be surprised to know how few ltl carriers are actually post audit. It is a very cumbersome animal to set up.

We have been doing LTL for the last 6 years and run about 20 shipments a week across the border. Thankfully we are in Quebec and run through Lacolle , where customs is quite helpful and most decent brokers have a presence. We avoid Landsdowne On., like the Plague.

WE are pretty thorough at screening customs documents and know which customs brokers to watch out for.

WE put about 4 trailers in bond a year and have them sent to Intermidiate whs. in Dorval. If the freight is near the back they will get customs permission to cut the seal and we can drop the OFFENSIVE freight.

You really need a high volume of freight and some incompetent staff to warrant the expense of going post audit.

OH SO U GOT KNOWLEDGE ; BRING A TEXTILE LOAD IN BOND WITHOUT PERMIT ; Pl Pl !! go get some coffee

Eagle,

I suggest you and FR8CHICK settle this matter via PM or on the phone.

It would be appreciated if FR8CHICK could give everyone an update on this next week - as you originally started the thread.

There needs to be communication between the two members only.

The thread is starting to involve other companies - not directly involved in this unfortunate situation. Please refrain from the "back and forth" here....

Thank you

I'm guessing he/she works there...

p.s. we never cancel for a cheaper carrier, that's just wrong; once it's booked, move on to the next load.

Eagle, with all due respect. The spamming of this thread is not likely helping your reputation with other members here. It is always nice to hear another side of every story, but a well-written, intelligent and thoughtful response might have gone a little further here. Pardon me for interfering in this, but we just went through a similar scenario on this forum a week or so ago, and it seemed that many of the other members here wanted to put all this bashing behind us and move forward in a positive direction (again, with all due respect to both parties).

not looking to argue, but we ended up paying $100 more out of pocket to move it, since then we haven't done a load, that was in March, the last load was in December.

p.s. shipper wouldn't know what we are paying as they aren't paying, neither is the receiver, H. O. controls that.

I am not looking to argue either and this will be my last comment on this thread, but one you did 4 loads for me not 2 ( first 2 went well the last 2 had major service failures ) and 2 you told me what rate you wanted. So if you consider the rate to low then you should of asked for more.

What's your take -UPDATE

Here is the update from our situation with Moonstone. First, I will start by saying thanks for everyones support in this as a few have had similar experiences and issues. Thanks to Eagle (Kiki @ Moonstone) for updating this forum as to where our shipment was. If it weren't for that, I would not have known what was going on, since there was more information given on this thread as to the whereabouts and circumstances surrounding my shipment in your posts on here, than I received from your company in 3 days. As for speaking to me 33 times Thurs and 19 times Fri...I wish...maybe then I could have gotten some answers.
On Fri at 10:30am, Moonstone agreed that of the freight wasn't cleared in an hour, we would get my freight off the truck and we could carry on as they were not confident their freight would be cleared for the weekend.
Fri at 11:30, Moonstone refused to get the freight offloaded and said they had no drivers in the area and the trailer had a customs seal on it so we could not get the trailer ourselves and get it offloaded.
Friday 11:45am, I called Moonstone's insurance and advised of a missing load. The insurance advised me to wait for Kiki's call and he was going to clear things up. Kiki did call, advised me to submit the claim, told me not to call again looking for freight as they were not delivering it, then hung up on me. I then receive another call back from a dispatcher at Moonstone, advising they have a driver at the truckstop outside Detroit and would take the trailer to a warehouse if I arrange it and give them an address.
Fri at 2:10pm, Moonstone was given an address to take the trailer to , on the U.S. side to offload my freight. Moonstone agreed to take the freight off and as of 3:50pm, they never showed up. They then had to call and locate a driver and we went through the same stuff all over again.
Fri at 4:30pm, Moonstone advises that their freight might be clear and they figured why bother taking to my warehouse (after I arranged everything and held ppl back to offload) when they could "just wait and see" if theirs did actually clear.
Fri approx 5:30 Moonstone advises truck cleared and is coming home.

Eagle (kiki) also stated in this thread that the situation was resolved and the freight delivered ontime...if ontime means 5 days late--then yes, I guess that would be ontime...

If posting on a forum like this helps get my situation resolved, then I am glad I use it and would do it again.

I am assuming you are putting them on your DNU? They have no clue what is going on there. After telling them on the phone that I will no longer use them and after them seeing my post on here they still called me yesterday for 2 loads I had on the link. And FYI the roundtrip that they complained about being cheap well when I posted it they called again and asked for the same rate. I AM GLAD TO HEAR AT LEAST YOUR FREIGHT GOT DELIVERED AND YOU CAN MOVE ON. Hope you did not loose a client because of this companies service.
