What Happened to the Good Old Days??

Mike,

You have to agree that over the last 2-3 weeks there have been select individuals that post considerable numbers of posts and have very little to say besides "ya, I think that too" or posting to 'shoot down' other members or posting to disagree with other members, basically stirring the pot... I won't name anyone as I'd be guilty of exactly what I'm denouncing here.

This is the kind of thing that school children do, not professional people. I, for one, would like a forum that is dedicated to transportation professionals to hold information important to readers that is insightful and beneficial to readers. Yes, I do believe it includes 'free speech' as does everyone else here. But as Pablo well clarified in the "Censorship??" thread some moderation is required in order to keep the integrity of the site and all of the members that want to share good ideas and share information about comapnies that are less ethical than most.

Picking on how one member may run their business (it's their business, mind your own), how someone wrote a post (pointing out minor syntax or spelling), the grammar used, telling a member that their opinion is wrong, etc... that behaviour is not for insidetransport nor is it for transportation professionals.

Yes, yes, free speach all the way. But do us all a favor and write something worth reading that will BENEFIT other members... And for heaven sake, if you can't post your name and/or the company you work for you may as well be a monkey at a typewriter, with only few exceptions I choose to skip over your posts (because I can).

Rob - Gong Show - isn't it most days?? Just remember that all carriers in Ontario will be expected to deliver all freight picked up Wednesday of this week through Monday of next week on Tuesday in the AM... :)

Keep well,

Mike

You can skip over my posts. I have no issue with that. I have said where I work before Mike Jr. It is Everypoint Logistics 514 426 3043 in St LAURENT,QC And my name is Michael. I have no reason to hide. Now for soem reason if you have a problem with me than being a senior member you should use the PM tool. I responded before when our name came up under the credit reference forum. The references came back good.
Regards,

i think we are going crazy....by they way mike, what did that last message had to do with anything on this blog. I dont see anyone have a problem with you...do they?

My apologies ..just one of those days today..misread the last part as being directed towards me, if I misinterpreted the post than I am sorry

Hey Mike,

Absolutely not intended towards you, hats off to you for being straight up about who you are!

Keep well sir (and fellow Michael),

Mike

I think there's nothing wrong with posting anonymous opinions, that is what forums are for. But I agree, we have to be respectful when doing so ... if you don't give respect, you can't expect to get it back.

Also, there is no need for people to say who they are ... if we make relationships with other members on the forum and divulge through PM, that should be plenty sufficient.

When you work for someone else, you also have to be respectful in that your opinions may not be exactly towing the line of the company, and we may not be authorized to do so. This is why I stay anonymous to who I am ... but anyone who I feel is worthy of being a friendly peer/colleague in the industry is welcome to reach out to me privately any time.

Maybe accountsreceivable@drc or someone else could provide us with a Friday joke...then next week we could all start over fresh!

That was my plan chica123 - great minds think alike!

I am going to find a good one and post later on today...we all need it...

Thanks for posting that!

Absolutely,

If 'company view' differs from your own, having people know who you are could prevent you from being as open and honest as you'd like to be.

That being said, I'm a bit of a realist and am pretty sure that not all employees here agree with every decision I make even though the logic behind them is sound. I welcome challenges and questions from staff here, it helps us all see the big picture and I don't think of them differently if they don't agree with my view or the company view or anything in between.

Do I want them posting things online about their opinions (especially if they differ from the company view), nope. Do I want them shared in house, absolutely...

More on topic for the thread, but not really: while the banned members are cooling off, where's the Friday Funny?

Keep well theman,

Mike

Wow I have never seen so many postings for one blog in just a few days LOL. I hope everyone had a great long (short) weekend!!!
