Anyone have any info on these guys that have their Canadian operation based in Lachine, PQ?

I know they are a huge international company with thousands of people but I can't find an MC # or bond or anything on them.

Anyone ever dealt with them?
How were they for paying?

Thanks

Like all big forwarders 45-60 days is standard. We have billed them for years never had an issue as long as you make sure you put all relevent info on invoice.

Big Forwarders

Like all big forwarders 45-60 days is standard. We have billed them for years never had an issue as long as you make sure you put all relevent (sic) info on invoice.

Without any disrespect to you whatiship, but your response has triggered some curiosity within me. So, I'll put my general question here, but post it also in the : Help us add discussions that really matter forum so as not to sidetrack this thread. Please post your responses there.

So, here is my question: Do most carriers or brokers accept payment terms of 45 to 60 days for bigger forwarders more readily than they would with smaller customers? Does size matter?

I think that when you figure out by the time you create your invoice and send it out, it gets to destination and gets processed for payment in Net 30 (which usually isn't exactly Net 30 because most are doing weekly check runs or something like that) and it gets mailed out and delivered to the carrier, 45 days is probably the best case scenario in actuality. I always used that pretense when I was a carrier and doing business with brokers ... only some customers who didn't need POD with invoice paid faster.

I think that if you have a program where you EFT funds or something like this, it shaves time off. But brokers generally need the POD to bill, and most of my customers need POD for us to bill them.

I actually believe that N45 terms from a customer where you can bill as soon as service is incurred (pick-up) is as good as N30 from customers where you have to bill with back-up.
