Hello Guys,

What software you guys are using for dispatch if you don't mind sharing? And what are pros and cons of that software.

I will highly appreciate your input.

Best Regards

We used Universal Freight Operating System ...also known as UFO's. Was a full dispatch and maintenance pkg. Also had the Broker Pkg. very good system, user friendly. As a matter of fact I might be able to sell you either pkg at at a very good price (full working version with tech support). Not using either anymore. Taking a break from trucking at the moment. Too crazy for this guy.

Most places use Fleet Manager but be prepared to pay TransPlus to modify the program out of the box, including helping with report generation. On the plus side, links with your GPS system and EDI-ready for ACE, etc. Check with them if they are ready for ACI if you plan to adopt Fleet Manager. I think most Fleet users currently will not be ready to turn on ACI in their systems when the government makes it mandatory.

Please keep to topic, if you wish to advertise a certain software over another then just contact admin and buy some ad space. Other then that just share your opinions as asked no need to direct sell on this website.

Hey Paul, No disrespect I am just curious as to why it is okay for you to direct sell your products on here but not okay for others to discuss the software they use.

Heres your thread on a quote system.

Comes with CMS System and a BACK END Quote system.

message me for price, alot of potential.

Where do I start TRUCKIT?
1) I bought ad space on here
2) I mentioned that stick to the topic at hand which was opinions on pros and cons about dispatch software.
3) I posted an ad on the classified sections about a software I had made and now want to sell due to lack of time to build the site up.
4) you mentioned products but i only have 1 product that I am selling along with the banner I have on the top of this website.

since 90% of user use a nickname, you cannot tell where they are from and in return when your talking about dispatch software they have the ability to go on here and post links to there website which by the rules of this website is not allowed unless you buy ad space.

Now if I did something wrong please let me know and I would be more then happy to delete my software classified.

Sorry guys ...not trying to sell software systems. I mentioned that I used UFO's in the past and found it very user friendly. Also mentioned I have a license available for the broker and trucking applications. Wasn't really actively selling it, but thought I might be able to help someone save some dough on something I am not using. If that is inappropriate I apologize and I stand quiet and humble.

Hey Frustrated Viewer, its all good my comment wasn't about your posting someone else was posting links to other software.

Cool AMA ... I like this site and though I have stepped out of freight after 23 years I still like to see whats happening. I try to stay neutral and out of the proverbial poop that can go on ... put I cant stay completely quiet ... lol.

AMA, Unless I am missing something here I did not see anyone advertising to sell a specific software on this thread. All I read was members providing valuable information. I was just curious as to why you would shut them down as the info seemed very helpful. I have no issues with you advertising whatever you like as long as the same rule applies to all.

I too support this site financially but have not once used it to sell my service. I thought this site was created for all to share inside information on the Transportation Industry. I would be disappointed to see it turn into nothing more than a Bill Board.

Truckit, I think you over did it on this thread no useful information was deleted only a notice sent for people to stick to the topic. What I advertised was a personal project nothing to do with AMA. Thanks for your input thru

All I did was delete a direct link by a user who only has one post. I have over 380 posts I think my moderating skills are ok and I do try and look after the best interests of the site.

AMA - I was just curious please do not get defensive. I value your input on this site.

Feel free to private message me, I am not a bad guy and will always explain or answer any questions you have.

AMA isn't the signature portion at the bottom of your posts an advertisement? It indicates service area, contact and website link? It appears as though that is an advertisement with website link which if I understand correctly is why a previous post was erased.

Just my opinion but if someone wants to advertise in what currently is "marketplace" on here shouldn't we have a section that is clearly marked as paid advertisement? Maybe these should be banners at the top of the page such as your ad for straps. That way it is controlled by the site as to what is advertised and that it is paid for. That would ensure this threads remain information only and not for ad or promotional purposes.

cdaustransporter, if you want put your own signature under your name that way you can let people know who you are and what you service I am more then sure that is acceptable. This is a transport website and in my signature I am showing what lanes I service. Common sense if you want to jump in on this conversation please have a valid point.

The best trucking dispatch I've seen is owned by a gentleman named Ashwani. He charges $100 a month for the complete package. Everything from dispatch, to driver pay, fuel tax, accounting. The whole ball of wax and it's so simple to use even a techo-doofuss like me can navigate it easily. There is 24 hour support, and the guy couldn't be easier to get along with. ALso will be compatable with the requirements for Ace manifests soon. 416-451-8942 Worth a look.
