We just booked a load with this shipper and they wrote on the bill of lading 37000 lbs but they put more than 45000 lbs!
When we checked the weight , it was to late, we left the shipper and we were too far from Delson Quebec to go back there and refuse the load!
So we called the broker Devine Freight and asked for more money but ........they don't care! So they didn't pay extra!
Stay away from this load - Delson - Quebec - load goes to Vance - Alabama!!! It was a very bad rate and very bad shipper!

Premier Horticulture

These loads have been the mopther of all cheap ones for the longest time. Only reefers pick those one up when rates are high in the south east region

Those loads belong to Conrad Fafard in Agawam, MA
They are the cheapest loads ever and they are always being double brokered.
Stay away or call Fafard yourself, they dont care who pulls their loads, as long as you're cheap.

Peat moss has never been good freight to haul. It sits outside and gets heavier with each rain drop or snow flake. Often drivers are forced to drag the bales to the back of the trailer after driving x number of hours.

It's always been on my "No thanks - I'd rather come home empty" list.

To be fair... there are a few good mills (or used to be anyway) but far and few between.

I can understand that freight is scarce in the Montreal area, but you should stay away from peat moss loads, especially those sold by Devine.
Premier loads are always heavy, as Peat moss absorbs moisture and weight can increase substantially. There is little value to the product therefore the shipper will try to max you out, seldon loading under 44000lbs.
If you load again in Delson head down the 15 towards Champlain NY do not cross the brorder until you scale out at Fortin Transport. In case you are over gross you can call the shipper and ask what they want you to do.

In case you still are short of freight and would consider Peat Moss , contact Tourbiere Lambert . They deal directly with carriers and pay promptly. The head office is from around Rimouski PQ , they pay promptly within 14 days. Lambert Peat moss has a yard in Beloeil just near the scale on the East bound side of the 20.
