Cheap Freight of the day

I guess I would be running back to Indiana or Ohio to client freight. That is our plan next week guy headed for DFW if rates suck head for our freight in TN.. I am guessing TN here we come based off what I am seeing and hearing..
Yep, pretty much the plan. I'm usually not so rude to brokers but I told him let it rot for 95 cents a mile.

Check this one out. I was doing my best to be nice. Read from bottom it is an email thread ( short one)

320 what ounces of silver?? If it is dollars give your head a shake or better yet get out of the freaking business. That would not even pay my driver.

Thanks

The most embarrassing aspect of this shit show is that they actually put the ridiculous rate in writing! Yikes. Maybe 1 skid, but 44K…..something ain’t right.

I did a literal "wait - what??" when I read this. How big are your balls to even toss this out there? I'm a broker and this crap makes my blood boil. If I were in the dispatcher chair I don't think I could refrain from having the sex and travel talk.

On behalf of us brokers who actually care and want the carriers to be successful so I can keep my job - I am so, so sorry.

Really well said Brenda - I am of the very same opinion. I treat the carriers that work for me as an extension of me, which they are. I respect them, and their time - I pay them for it accordingly.

100%. We treat it like a partnership because at the end of the day, that's what it is. When I'm sitting on my retirement porch sipping my coffee, I'd like to look back and fondly remember all the folks that I did great business with, not man - did I ever screw that guy over. Who knows NTravels, maybe we are the suckers in this game.

As someone who is sitting back on their porch in their rocking chair sipping….hmmmm not coffee, it’s after 10am, you are absolutely right. Although not completely retired, I do think back and remember all the great partners I have dealt with over the past 35 years. Without their contribution, I would not be in this position. Sure there were lots of snags and hiccups along the way and sometimes, right, royal cluster f***s, but the laughs, friendships and genuine, good relationships more than make up for it. Business, especially good business, is always a two-way street.

Nah, we're not suckers - we respect people - in business, and in life. There's no shame in that. The carriers I have worked with over the years regularly come asking for work, and give me positive feedback about their experience working with me. When as you put it, retired and shipping my coffee (or other), I will most definitely look back at my life in logistics fondly - I've made some great friends along the way as well.
