The shoutbox had a couple comments about QC cabotage rules. The shoutbox is not the place for a discussion so I thought I'd create a thread.
As far as I know, there is no rule or law that limits Canadian plated carriers who are properly permitted to travel through QC and/or do point to point moves in QC. If you do not have a QC plate, then you would need an IRP plate. You also need a NIR number, a NEQ number and if you have no physical presence in QC you would need a QC resident agent.
Cabotage rules are set at the Federal level and apply to foreign based companies who are operating into Canada.
But....if you have anything other documentation or official websites saying otherwise, I'd like to see that.
