Dash cams seem to be a touchy subject, and I don’t understand why. You work at McDonald’s; they are watching you at all times. Work at the bank; they are watching you. Walmart, etc. you get the point. Why does this become so controversial when it comes to road safety and promoting safer driving by calling out bad driving habits? At the end of the day, the company vehicle is a workplace.

Personally I think its society's general expectation in North America of privacy when you are alone, say on foot walking, or maybe sitting either at home, in the car, in the work truck etc.

CCTV is everywhere is Europe, most people have little expectations of privacy outside of their home, and its the expectation that when you are in public you are being watched. Hence why Europe has seen much less resistance to driver facing dash camera's vs. other geographic locations.

If you are in or using a company asset or resource, expect to be recorded imo.
