These guys show 2 bank locations:1 in Lasalle, PQ and 1 in Coral Springs, FL... any one have info or current dealings with these people?
-For Roca, they do show an MC# 711824...

:S

I was thinking the same thing, hopefuly not, but figured maybe someone does deal with these guys

Seen before

I beleive that Watchdog adressed this issue under the Rockman heading this morning,

I would concur with him if it is one of Rockman's ex employees starting out on their own.

This could be like a repeat performance by Keira from Wheel King.

Did anybody ever used them - load pending and would like to have some references...contact I have is Katie Kalenick

I know the owner , they are in transport business for years , have a few trucks (5-7 units).
They operate from private home , small business joined together with Gomel Transport for insurance purposes .

I do believe they will pay the bills . They are not scam-run type of company , just a small carrier that may sell a load or two on the side.

Hi, got a call from this Gomel Transport and saw this post.
Any comments if they double broker? He's offering a truck and Gomel isn't on the link.

We have given loads to Katie at starteck , on the east coast and west coast inbound and outbound. I always found it weird that they have trucks scattered around for such a small carrier but paps/pars are always theirs and truck and trailer are always theirs so we have no issues with them

Thank you

Anyone have any recent history with Starteck? Pending load. Did a load for us back in 2018 that went fine, but nothing recent.

Starteck is all good. They have added more reefers and trucks for the upcoming reefer season with local farmers. I work with them from time to time , no issues

Starteck gave a load to a carrier that we have on our DNU List. Starteck now on DNU. Received a letter stating they have a dispatch agreement with the carrier and is their o/o, likely story that I do not buy.

Best part was that the delivering carrier tried to book the load directly with us first and was advised we could not tender as he was on the DNU Carrier List.

Soon you will not have many carriers to choose from.

So be it, in this day in age as brokers we need to be able to control who is carrying our customers freight more than we ever have...May just have to work a little harder, that's all.

That's my thoughts as well.

I'd rather a market where I have to have my team search for a truck, book it a few days out with a reliable partner than the current market where we post loads and have 75 options and have to try to figure out who's legit and who's not cause everything is so competitive on rate.

Good, professional carriers really have nothing to worry about during these times of fly by night, rate cutting, shady operators and double/triple brokering “carriers”. All the good ones have to do is keep doing what they have always done, providing good service at fair prices and being honest with all their customers, shippers and brokers alike. This is the advantage they have over the less than honourable clowns. In my experience, there has never been a time where maintaining solid relationships with your suppliers has been more important. Chasing that extra dollar by using cheap, sketchy carriers will almost always end in some sort of disaster. A brokers time is much better spent servicing his clients and developing new opportunities as opposed to putting out the fires and screw ups caused by using either the lowest bidder or the new guy no one has ever heard of.

Yeah , surely. You are smart enough to DNU Startek, a reliable company that has been in business for over 15 years, has a terminal in Lasalle with office , warehouse and crossdocks.

You will prefer to keep looking for someone else around.

Good luck
