"DOCK TO DOCK"

It might be better to back into that ramp than some of those places where the docks are inside and the driver can't see anything. Plus they never have any decent lighting...

Looks like the docks at every tractor dealer and or nursury in North America. Been too a lot worse. We unload at docks like that every week for years. Ever had the portable ramp dock? Have a client with one of them also.
this was neither of those, just found it funny what really goes for a "dock" these days. And yep we'ev thought about investing in one of those portable ones. We don't have a warehouse where our trucks are parked, one of those portable docks would be great for cross-docking trailers.

michael garon hospita.l....you speak of LOL

The best one was the Pepsico Docks in Peterborough. They are literally under a bridge and shaped like an upside down "C". my guys were telling me how battered the roofs of the docks were. Think square peg in a semi-round hole.

OMG, we have a ton of pics of sketchy, undersized, hard to access docks in the GTA. There is a reason they make 3 ton trucks with a 11'6 clearance to access to docks that are "normal sized" and can "fit a big truck" as per the receiver... we do a little searching and its 11'8 clearance, back in and u turn, sloped 10deg down hill.... theres always that one PITA place, that seems to ship or receive alot.

Undisclosed that location, receiver assure us is 53' trailer accessible with a "shipping dock" but... wait... the receiver got Dock and DOOR confused.
just need a lil bit of spit, grease, Vaseline and a prayer and you can get a 53ft right in there LOL

Back in the 80s I drove a straight truck in Montreal for a little restaurant and convenience store wholesaler called Independent Tobacco. The only dock I encountered was at loading in the morning, at IT. The rest of the day was running up and down stairs with heavy cases of food, drinks and cigarettes. Docks were extremely rare and a treat however bad they were. One benefit..after a year of that I was built like brick shithouse..even four hours a day in the gym wouldn’t have accomplished that.

Older trailers always came equipped with at least one side door. That is where you could bring the rollers into the trailer so the driver could send the boxes down to the receiver inside the building. “Docks” were something that you tied boats up to!
